I liked the first Villageois EP quite a bit, but this second one goes buckwild and is pushing some DS boundaries in an interesting way. I like when other electronic genres come into the DS mix. Can't not love the cgi cover art, too. Definitely worth checking out if you want something fresh

Since I've discovered this little gem at the Dungeon Synth Archives some days ago, it heavily rotates on my personal playlist. Such simple but beautiful music!

His best, to me. I agree. I've listened to later releases of Balrog as well. They are not bad but feel much more generic while this EP has some kind of unique magic.

As for Balrog, my pick would be "A Red Sun Rises" which, strangely for my usual taste brings epic soundtrack vibes more than DS, but in general Balrog has lots of good stuff around in his albums, lots of things to uncover indeed! Now playing HDK 52 † ZXombie by 1Kbyte DUNGEON This very very short release of 1KB Dungeon by HDK is almost what anyone would expect and like if he's into HDK stuff already, ultra short not songs but more "samples" inspired by 8-bit era but this time kinda more noise and experimental than RPG inspired but still if you like 1KB you will find at least half of the songs worthwhile of your attention..

Np Sunken Grove - Precious Solitude : sunkengrove.bandcamp.com/album/precious-solitudeOldschool inspired minimalistic DS, and indeed worthy of the kind enough words it has received on its bandcamp page!! Strongly recommended really for all imho!!

Anfortas - Far Below The City
Also very old school and minimal, but I enjoy it a lot.

This new Ancient Iron release really hits some good old school sounds. Favorite thing from this label so far:

Presented in a different context from an unknown artist, this would more than pass.
