Have you guys heard of Forlorn Kingdom? I think it's interesting to point out what it does really have of special, because so far it makes me think that it has some elements more 'uncommon' to Modern DS. I will not place myself as an authority on what an album feels like, in fact, Forlorn can't really be described with what we know of Modern DS, it really tries to give an Old School style, but I don't remember hearing such a influential keyboard/piano sound on a Album like this one: just check in Opus I, it's fantastic. There are probably examples such as Burzum with Dauði Baldrs and most "generally" (beware of the quotes) with Old School DS, but of course I need to be careful when saying that. And after all, this album carries a strong melancholical feeling that resembles the genre in the 90s just right when it was in the cradle, yet I don't remember any close examples to this. I would be grateful with any suggestions!

But then, on the cd I have he mixes a lot of different mood and styles (the closing track is more space rather than dungeon synth, another track is pretty creepy, the opener is comfy synth, etc.).

Ah, I see it now, I really didn't think that people would have memory to get from their head a post from some years ago or even days, I just got in the forum recently at last, and my god hahaha. Forlorn couldn't be missed So, yeah, you said it all, "Alpine Magic" feels really different, maybe not my personal favourite when it comes about Modern Synth, it's just a personal taste after all, it really 'contrasts' on a way that, I don't know, I'm just a bit 'traditional' on that anyways hahaha. Either way, the 'Dungeon' element has become more...ambiguous? It's different now, now Old School lives together with more soft DS. Try to compare Fief or Ulk to Old Tower or even Erang (shout-out to him btw XD), they are 'harmonical opposites' (although that's not really adequate, but I can't think of a better way to express).

Been enjoying ⁺˚*・༓☾ Thief and Boatman by Lowlander ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙ I think the neoclassical elements are very beautiful, especially starting off the first track Starlight Navigator It has a bit of a gothic romantic quality to it~

Because with something like Tales of the Mad Moon, most of those tracks are really creepy. However, it seems as of late Old Tower made the switch to not as creepy dark ambient. Erang's done a lot of stuff as evidenced with him being on a previous Northeast Dungeon Siege show, where some music had an 80s sound to it, other pieces were real emotional/dungeon synth, etc. I just got in the forum recently at last, Welcome aboard!

antipodeangoblin & angbandslasthero : Thank you truly for your kind words! \o/ Currently I'm taking a creative breather and focus more on promoting everything I've made so far. Recently I've also been brainstorming with ideas of f.ex. possible live performances(!), logo shirts, and definitely some new releases again at some point, so let's see what the future brings! As for the "listening to right now", lately I've been checking out Sequestered Keep and Wraith Knight, great stuff both!

Ah so many great stuff posted in recent posts!! Regarding Forlorn Kingdom, excellent stuff, I was listening stoned the other day my (enormous) favorites playlist (titled "Campaign" ) and when the 9+ minute mystifying "Howling Winds" played I got completely haunted by the hypnotic tempo... Again all recommendations are great stuff as usual, great taste everyone!! Currently listening to my custom Forlorn Kingdom playlist but at first I came to pos I was listening to Hole Dweller'ss song (on endless repeats) "Memories of..." ..
Great stuff, I just hope we get to listen to our enormous "to listen list" ...

Yes, that's my favorite track from him! As he's only done 12 that I know of...
