Summerless consider yourself lucky to play such a masterpiece for the first time (Planescape Torment).. Sometimes I think of how great it would be if I could relive the experience of playing for the first time certain games, Planescape is of course one of them, as Monkey Island 1 and many others I will forget if I start posting.. Otherwise, anyone here tried Magic the Gathering Arena ? I got into paper back at almost 4th Edition and been on and off for all these years but mostly playing and vastly enjoying Manalink (Microproses' MtG modded and heavily enriched version).. But I will be honest that indeed for the first time and indeed FREE TO PLAY, you really don't need to buy anything there to play and enjoy casual, WotC has done justice and released a decent PC version.. I fire it up once in couple of days but played heavily on launch.. And I just started an old CD era adventure, Callahan's Crosstime Salloon but right on the first screen it threw me about 10+ riddles I must solve so I still haven;t returned.. MTG Arena is great! I would love if they added some more cards but I really like it so far and have been having a blast playing it.

Haha, I started Callahan too, but with the walkthrough. The riddles and puzzles are absolutely surhuman. But the graphics and the ambiance are so great that I want to finish the game.

thewoodwose take a look at Manalink, especially if you enjoy oldschool magic, single vs AI play or you have played the original MtG from Microprose : www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=25 It's a little tiring to install but if you manage it's simply anything best you could have for endless, ENDLESS MtG games.. If I'd went marooned on an island I'd just take this one and would manage to wait 50 years to rescue me Stephanef haha nice, indeed it has a looot of atmosphere and its also unique to the PC and no rerelease, remaster no nothing so only through emulator we can ejoy this.. I use for years a true work of love and art for DOS games, EXODOS front-end/collection which really is like MAME but better for DOS... If you've never heard it be sure to google it... Btw stephanef did you get to play any of this years Ifcomp games ? I always play at least 5 each year to cast a vote but now that more "interactive" fiction is allowed than REAL text (parser) adventures, I seem to kinda feel it's unfair for the effort people put into them to compete with the do-it-in-5-minutes approach of the twine or whatever chose your adventure thing these newer years entries are bringing to the table..

No I didn't find the time and energy to try the IFcomp games. I'm trying to finish my own interactive fictions, haha - including the translation of one of my games into English.

Just beat Dark Souls Remastered. Went with a very similar build to my first-ever Dark Souls character--- basically pure STR and END build, with Havel's armor/ring, the Fang Boar Helm, and ultra-greatswords... My main weapon was the Greatsword +15, but my backup for tight spaces or faster enemies was the Black Knight Sword +5, which was my main weapon for my first playthrough. I actually ended up beating the boss with the Black Knight Sword, because he's just a little too quick for the Greatsword. It's still an extremely powerful weapon, much faster with lower stamina requirements than the Greatsword but with comparable damage. It's probably one of the best swords in the game, tbh.
The Remastered version honestly didn't blow me away as much as I hoped... I had hoped it would look more like Dark Souls 3, but it clearly uses the same models, artifacts and everything from the original Dark Souls, just with high-resolution textures, and better lighting/smoke/water/particle effects. It looks great, don't get me wrong, but I tried switching to the original just for comparison and I didn't notice THAT big of a difference. Still, worth the money if: A) You're a big Dark Souls fan and just want to experience updated graphics and/or have an excuse for another playthrough B) You've never played Dark Souls before and want the full experience C) Your copy of the original got lost or something
I had never played the expansion before, so that was cool too.

I need to actually play the expansion for Dark Souls. I should probably get around to playing Dark Souls II as well. I heard the remaster wasn't worth it unless you've never played it and you have a PS4 or whatever, especially since the PC version looks about the same as modded versions of the original port did.

I believe that, about the PC mods. I'd never played the expansion either, so that was part of why I bought the remastered. Plus I'm just a completionist when it comes to Dark Souls. I'm not sure it was worth the money but it was still fun. I tried Dark Souls II last year and did not care for it at all. I thought it was very ugly, flat and lifeless, and the gameplay is weaker than Dark Souls 1. It almost seems like it was made by a different company, or a different team or something.

Have you played the Scholar of First Sin version? It has all the expansions, which I hear are way better than the base game and improves a bit. I agree from what I played it doesn't feel the same as the others. It was made by what they call the "B-Team" and the director commonly in charge of the Dark Souls games had very little involvement.

I see. No, the version I played was simply the base version. Maybe it would be worth it to download the Scholar of the First Sin.

Destiny 2, since it's free until November 18th (PC only).
Some WoW, some Fortnite when I'm feeling masochistic.

I'm playing Red Dead Redemption 2. So damn good, at least as far as massive-appeal AAA titles go.

Recently finished the first Final Fantasy. I really enjoyed it, I just wish I didn't do the additional content the re-releases added until a later play through because it made the ending too easy. Not sure what to hop onto yet. I might do another JRPG, especially because I'm really fond of the music they tend to have.

I restarted UNDERRAIL, an excellent post apocalyptic / cyberpunk RPG. The map is insanely huge.

I always thought Underrail looked cool but I didn't really get into it. How is it so far?
