For whatever reason, I associate death metal with warmer weather, so now that it's late spring here, I've been going through this thread and listening to the recommendations. I've really enjoyed Mortiferum, Fetid, Cavurn and Tomb Mold. Unfortunately I can't find a link for the whole album, but here's a favorite of mine in that old school and grimy vein:

Svart Records just re-released Convulses' classic debut album World Without God on CD and 2LP complete with the Resuscitation Of Evilness demo, and it's a beauty in every way. Great stuff, and a long overdue re-release considering even more recent CD re-issues are quite pricey on Discogs. Now all I need is for Svart to do the same for Purtenances' debut!

Ooh, I'm very interested in this! Such a shame that Svart haven't put it on their bandcamp page, I've no room for any more CDs.

Kool album. More like blackened death trash, I guess. Found this band while looking through album covers by Niklas Sundin of Dark Tranquility.

Does anyone know what this font is called? Also on the Carpe Tenebraum cover I posted in the 'bad but good album art', also the font from the Minas Tirith demo from Druadan Forest.

I always consider this and Demilich to be among the first handful of death metal bands that got popular after the internet came of age. It was one of the first death metal records I had even heard honestly! Still one of the best!
