I really like Tomb Mold's latest stuff, but I wish they would release more stuff like this. The vocals so are nasty and killer.

Autopsy "Severed Survival", Death "Leprosy" and Obituary "Slowly We Rot" are probably my three favourite Death Metal albums. Carcass are maybe more Grind Metal/Thrash? and Morbid Angel, Deicide and Necrophobic Black Metal? Even though they are 'Death Metal' - the first three albums i mentioned are most probably for me personally the most genre defining.

You can get 15 Dark Descent albums for $6 US groupees.com/darkdescent (mainly death metal). Lantern, Blood Incantation etc. Someone should do a DS Groupee...

Of course, this is not pure Death Metal. It's a mix of different genres. Nevertheless, this will always be one of my favorite bands in this area!

Due to a cd I'm getting in the mail in the next day or two, I thought I'd give this old topic a bump.
Bunch of bands I'm not familiar with in this thread (been out of the underground music scene for far too long), but its been cool to see Blood Incantation on here, as their Hidden History of the Human Race cd was the last one I got Also great to see a Brutality mention, as I got and played all of their cds to death years ago (plus I had posted their great non-metal instrumental of "Sympathy" elsewhere a while back on here). Also played Resurrection's debut to death as well, odd intros and all. Anyway, I'm getting Pulchra Morte's Ex Rosa Ceremonia cd cd, which, at a brief glance, seems like a typical death metal band, but then they have a few different things going for them, as I was surprised that everything from that cd is either slow to mid-paced (with very few exceptions); usually death metal bands' material is fast/thrashy. All songs are only 4-5 minutes too. Supposedly if you like Crowbar you'll like them but I don't know much about them (or maybe anything? I don't think I've heard any of their stuff). To me the vocalist sounds a lot like Peter from Hypocrisy; funny how fans mentioned the Crowbar resemblance but not the Hypocrisy one. There's also a lot of a higher-pitched register yells from a co-vocalist on the album too (also like Hypocrisy).
However, the cd also has some clean singing, like in "Knife of the Will" (which does sound a bit like Hypocrisy's "Lies"), Heather Dykstra reprises her role as a guest vocalist from their debut album on "The Archer and the Noose" (quite the sweet voice she has too), plus the male vocalist also sings with her briefly on that track and there's a brief cello on there, which also closes out "Prince Among Shadows", which also has clean singing once more starting at the 4:32 mark (along with clean guitar), so it's not just all death metal with the harsh "blurgh"-type vocals. Below are two cheap-assed official videos, although the second one is more an "ad" than a video. At least there’s some clean singing on this one This is more an "ad" than a "video"!
And finally, Bolt Thrower was also mentioned in this thread. Anyone know why on earth they were given a thanks when The Heart of the Alien Sega CD game is beaten? I've been trying to find that out for years. Harm, the guy responsible for the Bolt Thrower faq, got in touch with them and they had never even heard about it until then (although still a mystery to this day that was cool to bring it to their attention though ).

Daytol hehe I tagged you on the recent cosmic ambient release of Blood Incanctation Also, never knew that trivia about the sequel of the cult Another World.. Niiice, very interesting and since you've looked this through and remains unexplained this is probably a case of a fan of BT listening through them while coding the game I'd take a wild guess btw since it's not posted yet (hope I'm not mistaken) in the thread, one of my favorites of the 90s, great videoclip that was given along with others with a greek metal magazine, Metal Invader on part I of a 2 part of tape video clip metal compilation

Daytol hehe I tagged you on the recent cosmic ambient release of Blood Incanctation Ha, yeah, I was surprised at that, and I think that was a bit of a mistake but the days where you're into an underground band, don't know anyone who has their new album and you get pissed off when you buy it and it turns out they sold out are looooong over with. Even the days of Tower Records, I believe the first ever retailer to offer the ability to hear soundclips of artists before buying them online, was over 20 years ago! Still heard it's a good album though; need to check it out... Also, never knew that trivia about the sequel of the cult Another World.. Niiice, very interesting and since you've looked this through and remains unexplained this is probably a case of a fan of BT listening through them while coding the game I'd take a wild guess Yeah that's what I've always thought too. Can't say for sure yet though! btw since it's not posted yet (hope I'm not mistaken) in the thread, one of my favorites of the 90s, No, it wasn't posted. I'll give it a listen once I'm not playing Pulchra Morte to death, as I haven't heard much Crematory!
