This was a good example here. I confess I have tried to do winter synth a handful of times in the last few months and it always ends up as something else. I still absolutely enjoy the act of listening to it any time of year, but composing it has been a struggle.

An artist from a local label recently put out a pretty nice winter synth EP!

Hah, yeah, I checked them out with the second to last Dungeon Siege concert when Redhorn Gate played and I was going through the YouTube videos of Wrought Records. Just a single here, but this seems winter synthy to me: Haudh's A Flickering Flame

Also I just realized there are Soulstess 4 releases, the two newest I haven't heard yet: soulstess.bandcamp.com/music

Their second to last one is the best, in my opinion. I can't recall if it was that one or their current one where they added vocals for the first time ever, which sounded pretty good.
An interesting group to specialize (it seems) in two long song e. p.s only.

I still absolutely enjoy the act of listening to it any time of year, but composing it has been a struggle. It would be very exciting to hear a new winter synth project! Listening to Long Player Omega now, and it's really excellent. So much meditative atmosphere and the shimmering tones evoke winter synth also, in a way.

Almost undeniably the most popular and prominent album in the genre, the absolute embodiment of WS: Apparently the video is no longer available. Could you post the name of the band and album so that I can look it up elsewhere? Thanks!
