Sorry if a similar thread does already exist, but... imagine one day Aliens come to our world and ask us for some "local" music... or simply ask us to show them what DS is. Which records will you let them bring back to their Mothership, as a "souvenir from Planet Earth"? I would go with these:
Mortiis "Γ
nden Som Gjorde OpprΓΈr" Mortiis "The Stargate" Wongraven "Fjelltronen" Pazuzu "Awaken the Dragon" Thangorodrim "Gil Estel"

Interesting topic, and kind of difficult one. Since you proposed five, I'll stick to five as well.
5 Albums to exemplify DS as a whole (to aliens, assuming they can hear in the way we do):
Mortiis - FΓΈdt Til Γ
Herske I see this as the most 'Mortiis' album, but I can't quite articulate why. Obviously at least one Mortiis album is required.
Burzum - DauΓ°i Baldrs Necessary early example of the limitation aspect of DS. It's not what you have, it's what you do with it.
Erang - Tome I Perfect example of early newschool DS. Some examples of the lighter side of DS, melancholic tones, and melodies that can't escape your head.
Hedge Wizard - More True than Time Thought Great example of the continuation of 90s lo-fi elements and restriction, new gamier elements, and that sense innocent wonder.
Murgrind - Inheritor of the Forest Throne Totem of the bombastic and cinematic new school of the professional and symphonic DS sound.
