Hey folks! At first i want to thank you all for the support and the kind words you left for this project. This means a lot for me because A letter for Carmilla was a really personal project and contains my deepest emotions paired with my inner fears. As i started this in last autumn, it was just a side project of An Old Sad Ghost, but it evolved quickly to a medium where i was able to express myself in the honest way would was possible. Back there i knew this project will have an end and last night i arrived at this point. As i mentioned on bandcamp, there will be a physical release as a Pro-Tape Box Set expected in the last months of 2018. Released by a new austrian label, but more of this later... There is also a Split on the way with another artist i really appreciate, released by his own label. Containing a song where i go back to the sound of AOSG, and a Black Metal Cover/Interpretation. I will keep you updated. To throw some light on it: The name of this project goes back to the song "Whispers from Carmilla's Tomb" from Lamentation, which was the first Dungeon Synth track i've ever heard. Back then i did not knew the term DS, but this track and the rest of their discography haunted me over more than 8 years. So the letter is not for Le Fanu's Carmilla, it is for Lamentation's Carmilla... My deference to their legacy and the emotions they evoked in my inner depths. For the future i planned to step back, updating my equipment and cultivate my skills on different instruments and mixing/mastering. Again, thank you all. I will also be from now on active on this forum. So please feel free to contact me... aletterforcarmilla.bandcamp.com/

A Letter for Carmilla has been one of my favorite projects since the initial release. Autumn and Medieval were some of my favorite releases last year. Beautiful work on everything, in such a brief time span too. Eagerly looking forward to the tape set. Good to have you on the forum.

Glad to see you here. The variety in this project was very inspiring.
If you feel comfortable sharing, was it an acoustic piano on Autumn and Romance?

Thank you again for your owerwhelming words. Sorry to disappoint you, but every piano sound was from a VST played with a Midi-Controller. Sadly i haven't access to a real one...
About the variety: As i said above ALFC is more the expression of feelings than the focus of a continuous evolving project. Often i just sit down in front of my stuff, choosing sounds which reflect my mood and just play all the sadness and depression out of myself. This was a musical freedom i haven't with AOSG. And with this freedom, things are going surprisingly (even for myself) really fast. I knew sometimes it would be a little disappointing, or it doesnt fit the taste of someone. But i also was curious about how i can express all this aspects of my soul with different types of styles and composig lines. And how the end result would it be. In the same time i always tried to stay near my roots. It was a wonderfull journey, but i am glad it come to an end.
So i will never come back to AOSG or ALFC. I said with this two projects what have to be said. When time has passed, of course i will come back to writing music. What it would be i dont know today. But music, especially the melancholic beautiful and depressive one, is since 10 years an important aspect of my life. For now i want evolve my self to the next step.

I'm now listening to your AOSG self-titled album that I didn't know previously.... well, that is a brilliant release my friend!!! it's impressive how your style can be melodious preserving that typically dark ambient essence! The opening track really kicks, the rest is very good too. I'm still recommending you to do some physical release, your music truly deserves it.

This Split containing the track OLD i had written only for this split around the time before COFFIN was released and a cover/interpretation of AZHUBHAM HAANI. My part of this will not get a public digital release, it will just see the light on this split and as a special for the forthcoming box-set.

Also, regarding A Letter for Carmilla, Lamentation is one of my favorite albums of the year so far, regardless of genre, and I think Medieval was a masterpiece as well. I absolutely understand the need to take some distance from working and I hope that the break and rest do you well. I absolutely look forward to the work you do in the future. Thank you for your great music.
