Hello I think the DS is today very stagnant, with a lot of very good projects and albums, but just a few, almost no new ideas or innovative project, except maybe Anubis. But maybe I go wrong, I'm not a DS specialist at all. So I want to know if you be acquainted about really innovative dungeon synth projects, album or music, and if you like this projects. I want also to know if you think that DS must be more innovative or not, and the reasons of your opinion if you have. I have no really view aboout it, but I think it can be interressant. How, and I m sorry if I make english faults, I am french

Interesting inquiry. I feel that many would disagree on the current state of DS being stagnant, if anything it's as varied and weird as it's ever been, often spawning the 'what actually is DS?' conversation. I'll list a few out that have really pushed some boundaries and were the first in their territory: Chaucerian Myth - Troilus and CriseydeJan 2017 This one is a pretty wild ride in composition with a lot of influence from progressive rock and some notable jazz influence. Favorite track: Cupid's Arrow
Hedge Wizard - Local PortalMay 2017 Unbelievably memorable demo that gave DS a more traditional rock/pop structure, incorporated full lyrics and singing, and shifting the escapist fantastical focus of DS to the fantasy that surrounds our everyday lives. Favorite track: Local Portal
Mythril Spectre & Paths - Once Through an Ancient ArchwayAugust 2017 An interesting DS album from vaporwave regulars (or at least Paths is, I haven't heard of Mythril Spectre before). Interesting keyboard work, kind of a spacey distant feel for the Paths side which is a pleasant experience, and things start to get much more irregular with Mythril Spectre's portion. Digital voice, some MIDI instruments, totally its own thing. Favorite track: Emerging Shadow
I could mention some older ones like Ranseur and Murgrind that were influential, but I stuck with albums within the last year. Curious as to what your thoughts are on the current scene and if you notice any trends that are starting to grow stale.

Innovation isn't necessary but music isn't living up to its potential if it isn't trying something new. Luckily DS is far from entirely stale if you keep your ears open and explore. Like anything else, the more broadly appealing and familiar rises to the top. One discussion related to this is What is DS? How much innovation is too much? Do we want what is known as DS to remain traditional and non-innovative? Is any dark synth music emanating from the dungeons DS? If so there are many unique entities to be found. I'll second thekeeper's selections and list a few from the previous year as well as resume from where he left off and highlight Ranseur.
Ranseur - Goblin Music
Gentle, rumbling, plucking goblin mechanisms. Effluvium - Danse avec les cadavres
Entrancing multi-instrument madness. Alder Deep - Chapter 1: The DescentHaunting melodic humming and screeching. Roman Master - Roman MasterA mournful perversion of choral synths.

I'll absolutely agree that Dungeon Synth is far from stagnant. There are even a few releases in 2018 that have been pushing the envelope in their own ways so far, and we're barely into the new year yet. Prester Jack - The Jacson (2018)kieranjackcommanda.bandcamp.com/album/the-jasconVery playful and interesting compositions with atypical instrumentation and orchestration for the genre. Poppet - Enter...The Numinous Realm (2018)poppetblackmetal.bandcamp.com/album/enter-the-numinous-realmWild, feverish, and surreal DS with Black Metal vocals. Definitely not for everyone, but I love it. Erdig - Habakuk (2018)erdig.bandcamp.com/album/habakukDS with field recordings and jazz influence. Vaelastrasz - Hope's End (2018)vaelastrasz.bandcamp.com/album/hopes-endDungeon Synth which fully embraces the aesthetics and conventions of Drone Metal. In terms of innovation, this one could be argued, but I still think it does something I haven't heard any other DS release do, so I have no qualms including it on this list.

that last one is one of my favorites of the year, and a great new discovery. I wonder if his other works are as captivating.

I agree with you all. I am glad about the fact that many artist's trying to do something new nowadays. Three releases from the last months i remember impulsively for there individuality: nebulosads.bandcamp.com/album/crepuscular-battle-in-a-distant-woodland-town (The choosen instruments and the folky structure sounds incredible) urpalemperor.bandcamp.com/releases(fell in love with the whole concept) sallet.bandcamp.com/album/embrasure(the elementariness and the style how this guy play his synth had a very hypnotizing effect on me) There is a huge pool of inspiration artists nowadays choose and the Synths, Vst's, instruments and recording technique to creating ds are endless. This and the fact that most of the artists are brave enough to conquer new territory and dont try to be the new mortiis is something i really appreciate about this scene.

Holy crap, that Ur Pale cover look absolutely amazing blown up to massive size. You can see the blobs of paint and everything!
But, I would completely agree with the rest of you, there's an amazing variety of evolving stuff out there, beyong the Mortiis/Tolkein worship.
