Just subscribed! If I can give you an advice: try to not make another "DS Archives". I mean, try to find out a different "formula", so your channel will be something unique and catch fans' attention and curiosity. Example: you can focus on singles, EPs, compilations and other formats DS Archives does not trade that much. Just my point of view, I wish you all the best anyway!

It is hard to follow every DS artist nowadays or paying every album the full attention wich it deserves, so this is a welcome oppurtunity to catch listeners to newer or unknown artists. Wish you the best and looking forward to see more on your channel.

One thing you'll want to do right away, because the question always comes up, is to make sure that you state somewhere in the description of your channel that you are uploading albums with permission etc. There are a lot of album rips on YouTube and I think some musicians are suspicious of YouTube by default.

L. from Druad here ... I'm glad you liked Vast Beneath the Skies. Just a simple note - I would appreciate if you ask for the upload permission next time. But anyway, thanks for the promotion...

It's not such a great problem really...but I did feel ripped a bit when I stumbled upon the album upload on random channel that I visited...

No offense but I don't really see the point...it just seems like it's the same as Dungeon Synth Archives but maybe covering different releases. I can stream and download these on the artists' bandcamp page, so if it's on bandcamp I don't really get why it would also need to be on youtube. Dungeon Synth Archives is nice for their older material and stuff not on bandcamp, but even with them I see no need to put up material that you can stream elsewhere. I guess promotion is cool and all but I'm not sure if this is my preferred way of doing it.

I think that's the point: DS Archives has a really good number of followers, so all those views can sometimes turn into sales/downloads on BC. Nothing bad in this, every artist looks for promotion.... and DS has gained popularity even thanks to that channel. What I see totally useless, is a DS Archives copycat. I mean, thumbs up for promoting this interesting and still "young" style of Music, even on YT, but if you want your channel to become useful to the cause, you have to build up your strategy to gain as much views as possible. That's why I would look forward for other formats like single tracks, compilations, live, interviews....or....why not... even DS-related tutorials!

This sorta thing only works if the channel is more famous. If itβs the other way around then it just looks like the channel trying to get the attention EDIT: regarding other content you can put up, Iβd love a yt channel dedicated to like DS interviews, as you mentioned

DS Archives are not putting all DS on their channel. I am sure there's a place for more, but asking the artist first would be really nice
