Terrorizer is my favorite, only the first album though those reunion ones weren't my thing. Also dig repulsion, fear of god, napalm death, all the classics. But I'm pretty into noisecore too like seven minutes of nausea.

I'm quite the fan of ridiculous cybergrind:
Also into mathgrind stuff like The Sawtooth Grin, As the Sun Sets, and all that. Pretty much most of the bands real crusty grind fans make fun of. Anal Cunt are always fun. I like "real grind" and the classic stuff too, but it came after the tech stuff being my initial entrance into grind. Love old gore stuff like pre-melodeath Carcass and Last Days of Humanity. Electro Hippies and Romantic Gorilla are kool too if you want to count those.

Sore Throat is great stuff, though.

Altered States of America used to be on constant repeat there for a while. You gotta love when a band can fit 100 songs into 19 minutes. Haven't dug into mathgrind, so thank you for the recommendations. I'd definitely like to check them out.

Gridlink and Discordance Axis Haven't dug into Gridlink. Which album would you recommend starting on?

Altered States is a crazy album. I think I prefer Frozen Corpse since its less of a gimmick, but Altered States was a fun one to listen to with friends in high school. You'll probably run into the term 'mathcore' far more often than 'mathgrind', but I use it to make the distinction between bands that are much heavier on the grind influence. I think most people just say mathcore for everything, though. Dillinger Escape Plan is pretty different from The Sawtooth Grin despite both being difficult and abrasive bands, so I make the distinction, though it's probably arbitrary. Gridlink and Discordance Axis Haven't dug into Gridlink. Which album would you recommend starting on? They only have three albums and they're fairly short, so just go start to finish: Amber Gray -> Orphan -> Longhena. Amber Gray is one of my favorite grindcore albums. One of the fastest guitarists. He got nerve damage in his hand a while back but he's building speed and proficiency back up.

These guys aren't Japanese but I lump then in with the overall sorta j-grind family. Check this: Also this is unrealted but I like Insect Warfare a lot but I guess most people do lol

I feel like I have heard the term, "mathcore" floating around quite a bit more than "mathgrind" but, I feel that that's a fair distinction to make when trying to discern between the two. I gave a listen to all three Gridlink albums and it feels like every one is even better than the last. Amber Gray is a great one and Longhena might be my favorite, as it stands now. Oh, that's sad, but glad to hear that he's getting back to the speedy grind, as it were. It looks like they've been on hiatus for a couple of years at this point. Looks like the drummer is in Municipal Waste now, but are the other two members invloved in other bands currently?

Quite a bit of variety, for sure. Yup, they're definitely intense, lol. Insect Warfare, I mean. Only listened to the one that you recommended at the bottom a little bit, but sounds great so far. Thanks for the recommendations, man.

secludedalchemist, ah I was wrong, he had some kind of brain infection and that resulted in nerve issues. I'm not sure what the other members are doing now. I didn't know the drummer joined Municipal Waste, that's really weird. Hopefully we see a new Gridlink album in the next year or two though.

Glad he's doing better though. Hopefully so. I'd love to hear some more. Were you ever involved in a grind band of your own?

Played guitar. The shows were fun, half of them musically sucked, the other half were actually kind of kool. We were only half serious though, so it works out. Won't go into details, haha.
