Would be interesting to take a tally. Seems like most people are including Alien and the Thing.

I think people's memories are being jogged by the lists of others, I know mine was.

I actually agree, its a bit more sinister. I remember seeing it in tv when I was young. The first scene when their all happy family in the car but the grindcore(ish) soundtrack terrified me. US is paced better. I also like Tim Roth. Yeah, Tim Roth is great. I was so surprised when Naked City came on at the start, could not believe it. Seriously check out their album Torture Garden. Avant-jazz surf grind with improvised vocals. Can we really just take a minute for everyone to appreciate the glory that is Naked City/Bill Frisell/ John Zorn?

Would be interesting to take a tally. Seems like most people are including Alien and the Thing. I think they're both impactful movies in terms of visuals and horror. I assume we all saw them when we were younger, those types of movies at a younger probably had a lasting effect.

A few I can think of off the top of my head:
Evil Dead 2 Pulp Fiction Friday the 13th Halloween Toxic Avenger Hellraiser Motel Hell
There are probably more, I'm particularly attracted to schlock movies and horror movies. I also have a hard time labeling movies as favorites.

Haha! Riki-Oh and Street Trash... I'm surprised somebody else here has seen those, although perhaps I shouldn't be. I loved those in college.... Street Trash is the best of the Troma catalog, in my opinion.

I always found it interesting that the director is now the #1 steadicam guy in hollywood, and the writer taught film at SVA.

Just wanted to check in to say that I recently saw Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock a few days ago (you can find it on Youtube). Great film, and, to me, very dungeon synth-y in a not immediately obvious way. Definitely recommend it.

Just re-watched Dark Crystal, that movie always blows me away. I love how fully-realized the world feels, and how unique. Surely Jim Henson's masterpiece
