ceadda-ds.bandcamp.comGreetings, my name is Ceadda and I come from Australia. I have been making ambient music on and off during my teenager years under various names and many years later have gotten back into music and just recently started my venture into Dungeon Synth. At the moment I use all hardware, a Roland JV-35 and for my noise project a Korg Monotron Delay. Although I do not post much, I do lurk these forums and have learnt a lot and found some great projects. I have just finished recording and am posting my first release entitled The First. This album is inspired by dark and dreadful times throughout life, but a reminder that those moments never last as the sun will rise again. I hope you enjoy.

Not bad. I noticed in the synthesizers thread you said you wanted a JV30 because you had heard that's what Mortiis used, but got a JV35 instead because you couldn't find a JV30. JV30 was my very first synth/keyboard for that same reason, and let me tell you I think you actually got lucky ending up with the JV35. I found it very hard to not sound too much like Mortiis. I don't know how different the sounds are on the JV35, but at no point do the patches on this album sound identical to Mortiis, so that's really cool. You have an instrument that is very close to that tool which crafted all those albums we love, but just slightly different enough that the sounds are fresh.

Yeah I am glad I got the 35, there are a few things that sound similar but not enough to sound exactly like him, but at the same time it is making me want to get more of the early JV series because I just really love the sound that they all have and think having the 30, 35 and 50 together could make something really special. Do you still have your JV-30? Thank you again for listening! If you have any, I would appreciate any constructive criticism also.

I do still have my JV30 yes, but unfortunately some of the buttons are broken leaving me unable to access a lot of sounds. One of these days I'm thinking of revisiting it and discovering what its limited synthesis engine is fully capable of, but imo it's a dead end for presets because Mortiis so thoroughly covered them all. About constructive criticism, while listening I was thinking that it might sound better with more layers. Often there's just one instrument playing at a time, which can get boring after a while. And also I think the riffs would sound better if they were more orderly and less improvisational.
