Hi, all. The fourth Chaucerian Myth album, The Faerie Queene, was released less than a month ago, and I wanted to post it here to celebrate my intention of returning to my activity on this forum. Stylistically, it has much more in common with the Canterbury tales and Troilus and Criseyde than it does with the Book of Margery Kempe, but it is very much its own distinct album in terms of composition and sound. I also think it is my best album to date. You can listen to and download the album for free here: chaucerianmyth.bandcamp.com/album/the-faerie-queeneI hope you all enjoy it. It was a lot of work getting this album finished and out into the world. Also, the cassette release will be out from Ancient Meadow Records in the very near future so look out for that! Thank you all!

Hey chaucerianmyth!!
Somehow I missed your latest album, sometimes I really do think that even the DS tag on BCamp misses stuff, dunno how else to explain it.. Better late than never though so great you posted a heads up here!! Thanx!!
Glad to have you back by the way!!

I searched for a thread for all of Chaucerian Myth's releases but no results but this thread, and instead of droping this on the now playing thread, let me say that : Latest Chaucerian Myth - Chaucerian Legends- The Epic of Beileag- Part I IS really great. I think along with Canterbury Tales it's a masterpiece and a solid gold one. Definitely one of the first must listens of the new year!!
Excellent work man!! All the praise is deserved..
P.s. What I liked is that it's not too bleak and dark and even noisy as Book of Margerie, but instead it goes for a more adventurous sound which is most enjoyable in a good campaign session.. And in general I like the compositions, many different themes but each turn you end up getting satisfaction and a really rewarding experience.. Already for me one of the top contenders for 2019.

At a first listening, the last one seems to be CM's best work so far. Hope to see it physically pressed! The reason why I pick this one as my fav, is that the artist seems to have much more self-control than before. In fact: looking at his back catalogue, honestly I get a bit lost in his flow of ideas, I have difficulties in paying attention to all the harmony & theory stuff he put in his compositions. I hear "cultured" stuff in his music of course, but for me it's too hard...just like some Dream Theater release. Maybe it's just me that's not so ear-trained, but this is how I feel listening to CM. However, total respect!

Yes indeed CM needs certainly a dedicated listening session and the latest album feels in my eyes much more accessible than previous releases, sometimes things happen like "as you'd expect" and in a good sense, instead of as you said mate Stormcrow, listening to more progressive stuff as I felt with the other recent albums of CM - a good parallel with Dream Theater indeed.. You can see sometimes the effort put in and all that but makes for a complicated sum (all DT releases after Awake or A Change of Seasons for example) while this feels more accessible (something like Images and Words), great but accessible!..
Glad that I see it's appreciated by you too, I hope part 2 of the story comes soon this year and is as great!!
