Share interesting or favored maps from table-top and video games, literature, and any other sort of world-building effort. Iron LordNothing communicates the large-scale sense of a world better than a good map. My love of maps is deep and a part of my work now. This can be traced back to maps from videos games &, of course, maps from Tolkien books.

Great thread Alder, thanx for posting these!! I owned from back then original Iron Lord for DOS, still have it, difficult game though for then, action adventure hybrid but with great graphics for its time and atmosphere.. As a game though I tried to get into it many times, especially since I've paid for it, but no luck... The map brought some great memories though, thanx!! What's the game of the 2nd post's map though ?? The third's one is Zelda A Link to the Past if I'm not badly mistaken, a great game too, didn't play it at the time(did later) since I hadn't an SNES but I had a GB mono so I enjoyed the $#^%#$^ out of Link's Awakening ... Both Zeldas great games .. I'll start posting with one of my favourite and very DS atmosphere games one can play : Quest for Glory 1 - which had a great must listen music.. :

Wonderboy in Monster Land (C64, Amiga, Sega Master System, Atari ST etc, 1987) This is perhaps my favourite "platform" VG of all times.

INCREDIBLE! That was an excellent sight, it's a pity that I've found this three years after published, what a shame of me. And that gives me an opportunity to say that (my username tells it) I'm completely devouted to Old/Middle Welsh written literature specially regarding its myth. I decided to make a map of Ynys MΓ΄n through a LotR style and the result was laborious though it was worth it! As you can see, it's a 'bit' huge, but it was my first try and I would correct somethings here and there as it was my first ever work on this type of map. Since there are some mistakes, normal to a first try, I plan to upgrade this map in a distant future. I hope so.
