So dungeon dwellers, has anyone yet played/tried "The Longing" ? If you are not familiar, it's a PC game with a certainly related theme (see bellow trailer) and a nice Dungeon Synth soundtrack. In fact, I think it's the first time any video game has got DS (Erang,Erdstall etc.) for a soundtrack. That alone has put it in my Steam Wishlist already and when I get the chance (or a bargain) I will get the game. I'm also of course planning to get the OST from bandcamp too, which has been released yesterday.. For the game : store.steampowered.com/app/893850/THE_LONGING/www.gog.com/game/the_longing (always respect to DRM-Free GOG ) and soundtrack : studioseufz.bandcamp.com/album/the-longing-soundtrackPersonally I am really happy and more than excited to see a developer be influenced of DS and incorporating it in GAME maybe even by design, the game itself has favorable reviews on Steam which is a very good sign and I believe besides the exposure Dungeon Synth can get from the game on Steam, many other Software Companies may consider collaborating with the endless vault that is the DS genre.. Again, asap I will get both game and ost, hopefully if any of the developer(s?) ever check this forum, I'd like to hear their thoughts on how it all went along and stuff, the idea and execution..

While it does not look like a game, that I would play, I like the fact, that they have choosen a Dungeon Synth soundtrack, as it is pretty fitting for such a desolate atmosphere.

I couldn't resist and ended up purchasing the OST already, gonna wait for a discount on Gog for the actual game but I'm hyped from the very positive reviews on steam which is usually very good to rely on.. Beeebon dunno man but judging by the youtube videos I've checked, the game seems pretty much on the UNdemanding cpu or gpu or anything, which is great since I think it will run on most if not all systems.. Check if he has released a demo, but I'm pretty sure the game would run on most decade old systems ..

I am so tempted but I can't find a demo and I don't want to fork out if I can't run it

I was watching some videos and related discussion on reddit and yt comments about The Longing and while I had a (long and forgotten) run and reached to one of the endings (the "easiest"), I really want to recommend the game for being, besides due to the licensed and original Dungeon Synth soundtrack as discussed totally PERFECT fit for all dungeoneers, I couldn't even realize the depth of the various endings, their philosophical metaphors and how it all binds to the loneliness of the character you control in the game... Totally a rabbit hole, if anyone was thinking of checking it out, please do, this "game" is much more thought out than someone could imagine, making great questions about life the universe and everything.. Totally blown by the depth of it and can't recommend it enough really..
