Greetings! I am Porin, the man behind the Australian Dungeon Synth and Ambient project Sventovit.
I have been composing Dungeon Synth music since around June 2019, and my music is mostly inspired by the Dark Ages, Slavic Paganism and Fantasy
I've just released a new EP 'Forged in Might and War'
It is inspired by the geography of Croatia, as well as the history of the nation prior to the adoption of Christianity.
Here are some download codes:

I hope you enjoy listening to Forged in Might and War, I think it marks a definite improvement over Longing for the Past. Thanks for the support!

Just used: 4w43-udsr Very nice album! I felt a bit remembered of Fief here and there, but in a good way not in a copycat one. ;-) I also like the fact that the EP is about the mythic age of an actual country. There is so much synth about tolkin or some video game series ot there... this feels so much more meaningful to me! (This dosn't mean that I want to shame people who do tolkin or video game inspired stuff.) May I ask whats your connection towards croatia? Maybe you've your roots there?
P.S. I also like the coverart a lot. Is this some historical painting or original artwork?

Thanks for the review you left on my Bandcamp, your support is greatly appreciated. Funnily enough, I haven't really listened to Fief. I think I listened to a portion of the album 'II', though not very much of it. Most of my musical inspiration comes from Black Metal. I'm glad to hear that Forged in Might and War felt more meaningful to you than other fantasy/Tolkien themed Dungeon Synth releases, that is the exact effect I was going for when making the EP. I feel as though that traditional Dungeon Synth in the medieval style has come to be very similar and almost indistinguishable. My earlier releases dealt with quite generic fantasy atmospheres, and I was not happy with settling to be 'just another dungeon synth project', so I wanted to make something more unique and intimate. My answer to this was to create an EP related to Croatian history and geography. While I live in Australia, I am of Croatian heritage and I feel a very strong connection to my homeland, so composing Forged in Might and War was a perfect way to try making something inspired and unique. When I had the idea for Forged in Might and War, I also wanted to incorporate elements of Paganism, so I decided the EP would focus on my homeland's earliest history. Before submitting to the Christian faith in the 7th century AD, the Croats were proud Pagans and Barbarians, who conquered and pillaged across Central Europe and the Balkans. Forged in Might and War is somewhat of a tribute in honor of my Slavic Pagan ancestors, who lived in times before my native faith was lost.
While I wish the cover art was an original painting of mine, it is the the 1870 painting 'Dolazak Hrvata' or 'Arrival of the Croats' in English, by the French-Croatian painter Ferdinand Quiquerez.

Hey everyone, I've just released a new EP. 'Through The Valleys Of Velvaris' acts as a preview of the upcoming 2021 album 'Velvaris', which will feature a mixture of Dungeon Synth and Black Metal elements. The EP consists of two tracks, the first of which is pure Dungeon Synth, while the second incorporates some elements of Black Metal. sventovit.bandcamp.com/album/through-the-valleys-of-velvarisThanks for listening, your support is greatly appreciated.

Really enjoyed that! The second track almost feels dancey in the first passage. Also really appreciate your choices of textures, good variety of sounds on display here. Iβm a sucker for a good pizzicato string patch. Itβs also nice to hear some tracks with a BM influence that arenβt just tremolo guitar and blastbeats (not that I have anything against tremolo guitar and blastbeats). Looking forward to hearing the full release.

It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed listening to my new release. I was somewhat reluctant to release it, as I was unsure of the Black Metal influences in the second track, although I've had positive reception so far. The full album is planned to be released some time in early 2021, so keep an eye out for it. Thanks for listening.

Greetings! While the new Epic Black Metal/Dungeon Synth full-length Sventovit album is in the works, I have decided to release 'Olde Lore', a compilation of Old-School/Raw Dungeon Synth demo tracks recorded over the past year or so, absolutely free of charge. The ten tracks of this compilation were inspired by various fantasy novels, occult magic, personal feelings and emotions and the everlasting desire to return to the long forgotten past, of fearless warriors, valiant deeds and powerful gods, an age of legends. While this is by no means a perfect album, I hope the tracks are able to transport you to the dark medieval ages of yore and evoke deep forgotten memories within you - visions from a past age. sventovit.bandcamp.com/album/olde-lore-demo-compilationThanks for listening, your support is thoroughly appreciated
