Hey fellow dungeon dwellers,
If you're into Norse history, mythology and spirituality then please check out Land Spirit!
I've put two releases out since the start of the year: 'I' more of a demo introducing the concept of what I do, and just yesterday 'Wisps Over The Hidden Stream' which delves into more of the nature/spiritual themes around the Viking invasion of England. I grew up in Stamford, one of the five boroughs of Danelaw where Vikings invaded and settled in the 9th century, so this strange era of history is close to my heart and Land Spirit is a vehicle for me to explore it.
If you listen please let me know what you think!
Cheers,
Land Spirit

Your project caught my attention because of the viking theme. I'm exploring Norse myths with my own music.
When I listened I was surprised. I didn't expected such lighthearted music. Don't get me wrong it's very well done! I just expected to hear something medieval or archaic. Instead your music has a bit of a New Age vibe. "I" even sounds a bit confy here and there.
But all in all it was a plesant listening experience. I hope for a full length release at any point in the future.

Hey thanks for the feedback! I'll check out your stuff too
I don't feel the need to explore these themes with music that's really dark and bleak, this period of history would have been one of wonder, societal change and technological/ideological advancement - I really want that to come across. Essentially I'm just trying to do something a little different with the subject and hopefully people will see it in a different light.
Essentially with Land Spirit I'm trying to use Norse history in the UK as a vehicle to explore spirituality in some form...the rest is up to the listener to interpret! I know it's a little pretentious haha There definitely be a full length at some point
Cheers!

Woah, interesting.
The idea of a Norse inspired project is just interesting. I took a listen to both of your releases.
Both are great, but I preferred "I" over the other. Very well put together and the theme is awesome. Look forward to hearing more in the future!

Thanks for this! I'm glad you got something out of it...especially as I appreciate that Wisps is a bit weirder than the demo. I'm deffo gonna persue those elements going forward and I'm currently trying to do that in a way that still fits with the concept of Land Spirit. Either way cheers for the feedback

Thanks so much for this! I know there's a lot of other Norse-inspired artists out there but I'm trying to do something a little different and more specific with Land Spirit, especially as it has a lot of personal connection to where I grew up. I'm definitely gonna be exploring it in far more depth with future releases...thanks for listening!
