I would like to introduce you to my music project. With "Freknur" I try to translate the stories that are buzzing around in my head, but that I can't put into writing, into music. With my first album "Relief" I had the idea of a person wandering through a forest with an unclear mind. The longer it wanders through the forest, the more the persons thoughts become clear. I would be very interested in what you think of the album (and also of my other music on my bandcamp page).Gladly also criticism concerning the production of the album (sound, mixing, etc.). I think I still have a lot to learn there. With the EP "I/II", which I released a few days ago, I had felt the urge to use blast beats. I like the mixture between Dungeon Synth, Dark Ambient and the Black Metal parts, but I don't see it as decidedly Dungeon Synth. In the future I would like to do more "classic" dungeon synth. I'm currently in the process of trying to make my own classic sounding dungeon synth sounds with a digital synthesizer. Edit: I'll list here the albums I have released so far that I would classify as Dungeon Synth ChevalierForests, Swamps and CavityRelief

Hello everyone, greetings from Kassel, in the middle of Germany. I interpret this thread here as an introduction thread and would like to introduce myself to you here instead of creating a new thread. I was socialised into the metal scene as a teenager, but until a few years ago I didn't get into the quieter, atmospheric yet dark side of the genres associated with metal. I have the feeling that the older I get, the more I appreciate the quieter sides of dark music. For almost exactly a year now, I have been working with synthesizers - both analogue and digital - and with music production (also because of the pandemic and the resulting change in my life). Inspired by people like Erang (nice to have you on the forum!) and Francis Roberts, I dared to create my own music. It's not really Dungeon Synth, but rather a mixture of Dungeon Synth, Dark Ambient and Black Metal, but I like it a lot. Apart from making music, I'm mainly studying at the moment. Unfortunately, that takes up a bigger part of my life than I would like it to. Other hobbies are falling by the wayside at the moment. If I had the time, however, I would write more stories and poems and - actually - do some sports. So, that's enough of me babbling. I'm glad I found this forum and look forward to a good exchange! Hey Feknur and welcome!! I see in my downloads folder I've already grabbed your December release, as soon as I get to it I'll live some positive I hope feedback, although the successful comination of BM and DS is a hard one to get,I'm sure if you like your own music it certainly will be fun to listen! Welcome again, regards!!

Hello, thank you for your reply and the warm welcome to the forum. I am eager to hear your feedback, regarding my album. As I said, I am also very interested in getting feedback that is not only positive. From outside my circle of friends I haven't got any feedback about my music yet and my friends - well - they are always very enthusiastic about what I do, but I think they don't necessarily have the most objective point of view . So if you have the capacity, feel free to write which parts are no good and why.

With II/II I released the second part of the album II (very creative name, I know) a month ago. As with I/II, I felt the need to use blast beats and create a more washed out, gritty sound overall. I think I managed to do that better here than on I/II. But I also realize that after this I feel the need to do more classic dungeon synth again. freknur.bandcamp.com/album/ii-ii

I've been working on a more classic dungeon synth album for the last few months, inspired by a D&D session I ran. I'm very happy with it and working with classic sounds from my newly acquired Casio keyboards (as opposed to the digital synthesizers I've been using) really appeals to me. "The urge for a new adventure catches you while you are working at the forge. An irrepressible desire for a peculiar treasure buzzes through your head like a melody and makes you put down your work immediately. Your quest leads you through deep undergrowth, the enchanted forest, and clearings to the legendary swamp to recite the forgotten rites of the slumbering swamp deity. With his help, it is not far to the boggy cave entrance that leads into the vast caverns, further and further into the deep dark."

Great sounds here, the background atmospherics work very nicely too. You did a great job building the narrative into the music. Love that first whistled motif with the anvil hits becoming the rhythm, excellent details.

Hey freknur , been listening today to your latest "Forest Swamps and Cavities" , nice stuff mate, congratulations!! I enjoyed also the fact that indeed the narrative is strong throughout the whole album, but if I should choose the standouts they would be "Recite the Forgotten Rites...." and "In the Cavity" - so very very nicely flowing and enjoyable !!- ! Looking forward to more stuff, keep us updated!!

Thank you for your words. I myself am also very happy with the album. I think I've found a certain style that I like and want to use in future albums. I'm also already working on some new stuff (a lot of rejects, but some good stuff is there).
I'll have to think about how I want to release my music in the future. I think "Freknur" is primarily my dungeon synth label. But I'm also working on other stuff - drony dark ambient - how I want to release that I still have to think about.

with your permission, I would characterize this as a "drunk dungeon synth". Whatever it was, it worked out fine for me. Perhaps because I'm just in the appropriate state and the description of the album quite accurately overlapped with my feelings from it) Bravo!

The beautiful thing about music is that you can interpret everything into it that you associate with it. In a way, I can also understand the idea. With my part-album " II/II" I actually had it in mind to depict a drunken state with the music. Maybe that could also appeal to you.

My new album "Chavalier" is out. "The chevalier heads towards the light. Dust blurs the vision, the light is blinding, but the knight staggers on. All at once, everything disappears. Only darkness remains, no light, dust, anything. Only darkness and thoughts. Thoughts that manifest themselves after the passage of time. The Chevalier arrived now at his final Quest." I decided to set the price at β¬2.50 this time, but here are some codes: uspu-yptr
