Hey everyone,
I've just put out a short new release Through The Eternal Woodland and it'd be awesome if you could give it a listen! You can find it here (https://landspirit.bandcamp.com/album/through-the-eternal-woodland) along with all my other stuff.
If you're into Norse history, folk tales of old England and a dash of fantasy then this is 100% for you
Cheers,

vv THIS IS THE LINK vv
LAND SPIRT - THROUGH THE ETERNAL WOODLAND i really enjoyed the last release and i like this one as well. i know there was discussion in your other thread about the new age connection in these and its actually one of my favorite aspects here. it feels right seeing as these have a more holistic attachment to history, geography along with myth. its a brighter look at some stuff that is usually viewed through the gritty, miserable "dungeon" lens ( i personally dig it both ways, bright and dark) i also really like the tape art

I really enjoyed this release, like I enjoyed the two others before.
I like your use of the MIDI-guitar on "The Aphotecarist" it added a nice 'concrete'touch to the song. (Sorry I have a lack of better words to describe what I mean.) I really hope to see a full length release from you sometimes.
P.S.: When I pointed to the New Age vibes of your music in the other thread I didn't meant this in a negative fashion.

I got quite into Eno, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream in my late-teens but I can't honestly say that it's a direct influence on Land Spirit currently. That being said I'm totally cool with that being the vibe that people get...albums like 'Eld' by Enslaved, 'Damnation' by Opeth and obviously Feif 'II' are more along the lines of what inspire the most with Land Spirit...they're basically my bread and butter.
Either way cheers for listening, I love the feedback!

Haha that guitar is actually from one of the Erang sample packs, I don't think I messed with it or at all besides some basic EQ and reverb.
There will be a full length when I have more people interested in the project...it'll take me a long time to make an album and I want to keep people interested while I get my name out there. Either way there will definitely be one!
I know it wasn't meant negatively, in fact I definitely see it as a compliment

yes its a compliment from me and also just a lizard-brain association, Feif defiantly comes through, also Vindkaldr and other pad-y DS projects. sorry to ascribe too much, just thinking outloud

This is fantastic, sparkling with character and originality. Not at all what I expected from the theming (I’ll admit I have an unfair bias against Norse Mythology because of unfortunate associations with NSBM). This is a really cohesive presentation that I’m eager to hear more of. I’ll second that I love the style of that album art.

I feel the same about mythology based stuff...with Land Spirit I'm tightly focused on the actual concrete history of Viking England. Sure there are elements of spirituality within that theme, but not in the pagan sense (cos I'm not pagan)...I want people to know without a doubt that I'm exploring a very brief moment in history that I have a lot of personal connection to due to where I grew up NOT mythology or heritage or philosophy/religion etc.
The best DS for me is like a window back in time or a door to a fantasy world...I've been anti-fascist and far left since I was a teenager, I'm sick and tired of Nazis co-opting beautiful elements of history...Land Spirit is purely an observation and a re-imagining.
(TL;DR - fuck Nazis)
I'm going to start work on a full-length as soon as a I have the concept down and enough people are interested! The album art was done in about 15 mins because I can't draw lmao...glad people seem to like it though

As someone who plays in a Viking themed metal band, I definitely know this feeling.
I'm really loving this release. Equal parts somber and whimsical, and every single synth sound you're using is just beautiful! I especially dig the bassy synth line in The Apothecarist with that little "slide"/"bend" sound (sorry, I'm primarily a guitarist and don't know my synth terminology). It just hits in a special way.
Gonna jam this on repeat while playing Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Haha
