Hi everyone! A few months ago, I began my descent into dungeon synth after hearing all sorts of great projects and wanting to start my own. I released this album back in December, mostly for my own entertainment, and never got around to properly promoting it. So now I'm sharing it around where I can, and I'm looking forward to being part of this community. I was originally going for an old school, lo-fi sound, but lots of different influences started creeping in there. Here are some codes, and I hope you enjoy! dankestdungeon.bandcamp.com/ dankestdungeon.bandcamp.com/yumjtqf-vqhc fu8x-gtpw lwzh-unus 4pyp-ejml cfu8-3gye cwwy-cunu phjz-hpqq r4bn-vrgt asxx-6df7 hv5v-w2bk Constructive criticism is always welcome!

Hello dankestdungeon, welcome to the forum!
Giving it a listen myself and it oozes that early lo-fi, experimental dungeon sound but with a slight tinge of a hollow epic injected into the core formula. Something lurks within, something great. Something dark. The varying influences in each track while for some tracks feels slightly out of place, overall it feels like one long epic journey in of itself, and I've definitely been along for the ride!
Solace in the Mountain Mists and Bazarr are the standout tracks to my ears. The former is a brilliantly enchanting journey piece, and the latter a haunting organ/xylophone(?) romp and I absolutely love that kind of sound. The titular track of the album itself (Descent into Dankness) is a right dreary, dank encounter of the dungeonous kind, and as a fan of that early lo-fi sound, big fan of these tracks.
Brilliant release! I hope this is the first of many encounters from Dankest Dungeon, and look forward to them if so!
I used the "4pyp-ejml" code.

I agree with you that the varying influences mean that all the tracks don't all necessarily fit together. This is something I want to improve on with future releases. I'm working on new material, and I have a couple "spacey" sounding songs (kinda like the track "Celestial Ancestry" but more free-form) that don't really fit with the dungeon synth sound that I may put out as a separate release. I'm thinking I want to go with either the more fantastical "epic" sound, or double down on the dreary and grimy sound. Maybe it's possible to combine them into something more cohesive? I'm glad you enjoyed the track Bazarr. It's one I wasn't sure I was happy with, but I'm glad it made a good impression with someone! haha.

I also just released two new free tracks today! :https://dankestdungeon.bandcamp.com/album/dankspace These are the "spacey" sounding tracks I mentioned in my earlier post. Inspired by sci-fi like Alien, System Shock, and of course Dead Space.

Greetings again The second full-length from Dankest Dungeon, "Ruminations" is out now! Available on my bandcamp and also released on tape through Voices of the Ainur. Get 'em while they're dank. To celebrate, have some codes, friends! 572l-jnac b5lq-kauw wrp6-g7e4 smfu-3vfa sb5d-hke7 k7vc-efrx umbe-3pxq x8vf-cnat qkbm-waub 93v7-hbax ndgv-5wfp wjtr-7wen egn5-e4re b2dg-upcu alqz-endp re8n-uax2 7jl7-hjt7 vfsv-5g3v 7ahr-73h9 m7ew-e4qt 957c-upgb "Dankest Dungeon applies organic field recordings and soundscapes to their brand of Dungeon Synth, giving it a natural feel. The tracks have a dreamy production to them, enhancing the peculiar synth effects used throughout. As for the compositional approach, these tracks range from lush anthems to austere relics that will transform the listener to ancient battlegrounds when necessary. This is a unique outing that leaves no stone unturned."Get tapes here: voicesoftheainur.bandcamp.com/album/vota-036-ruminationsTape bundle here: voicesoftheainur.bandcamp.com/merch/voices-of-the-ainur-december-releases-bundleRedeem codes here: dankestdungeon.bandcamp.com/yum

Hey dankestdungeon ! I missed to post that my favorites from your "Descent into Darkness" were the s/t(self titled) track and "Celestial Ancestry" but there were more tracks also that got my attention of course(like "To Arms" and more)! Congrats on your new release, still haven't listened to it so I used code 572l-jnac for this and cfu8-3gye of the previous one, many many thanx for the codes !! The pre-order for my latest release, The Dank Tapes Vol. I is now up on bandcamp! This is a haunting collection of unreleased ideas that didn't fit into the concept/vibe of previous Dankest Dungeon albums. While the track list is extensive, it is not so much a tome as it is a collection of torn and forgotten pages, now bound together, to form a cohesive tapestry of ethereal exploration. I invite you to take part and wander through forgotten realms and embark on an introspective quest, igniting the imagination and evoking a sense of longing for the mysteries that lie within. Releases July 28, 2023.
