They don't necessarily need to make fantasy or medieval themed art, just so long as they are a painter of some sort. I've been pretty keen on works by Yoshitaka Amano, Alan Brown, and Hua Tunan lately. I don't know a lot of painters that are still alive that I really like. In fact, those second too were a bit of a stretch for me. Asking for... a friend. |

henry thompson is one of my favorites right now, very minimalist landscapes with adobe villages. this ones painted on his cast. i need to commission him once i get an album done http://instagr.am/p/CVGczrNB0Yp gary mcmillan does surreal sci-fi art that feels almost like a more realistic dr suess http://instagr.am/p/CPqbqzBnWXv this guy is insane. half his stuff is incredibly beautiful sci-fi paintings/drawings that look like 3d objects clipping into each other, and the other half of his stuff is super gnarly gay porn so. be very careful looking him up lmao. he is ridiculously good at metallic reflections and transparency + refraction almost feels cenobite-y http://instagr.am/p/CTQKmW2BlE9 |

Also, you'd probably dig this guy, if you don't already. That third artist you shared has a n incredible grasp on shape and form, which is aesthetically pleasing, though I've never been keen on Sci-Fi themes, so I can't fully appreciate them like I want to. Those sharp edges and perfect curves, the rhythm and movement of all the pieces, they're all really well done. The composition truly is my favorite element of this guys work. Ah, she makes very beautiful works! It's hard to go wrong with classic fantasy, and her use of color, and the vagueness of details where it counts, it's all so well done. Thank you for this. |
