I'm kinda creating a language for my fictional land. But it will probably be weird to DS standards.

Ooh, you're talking about conlangs! Constructed languages! I LOVE CONLANGS! I can literally make one for you all if you want. Or I can show you one that I've been making for myself for a long time - meant to be spoken by dragons - very dungeony by virtue of that - though not as guttural as you'd think. Literally, I am a geek about conlangs.

When on the topic of language. What do you call a person making or listening to dungeon synth? The making of dungeon synth is of course dungeoneering but what do you call a person dungeoneering? A dungeoneer or a dungeonerer? 

And please make a hidden language for only dungeonauts to understand.

I always just call everyone involved a dungeoneer. The musicians are engineering dungeons of sound (for those pursuing the strict dungeon aesthetic) so it seems like a fitting term. I use it for the listeners too since in a way they use music to build dungeons in their mind

Well wasn't this thread an interesting read! I literally just got into the dungeon noise thing as well. But I do agree to some things I read here about not making a 50/50 dungeon synth/noise hybrid, but keeping it like 75/25 or something. But that's my personal taste, I will have to look into it some more though.

I think my next project (this is all speculative) might actually go 25/75 and be like an overpowering noise wall with faint synth drones throughout. I feel there's so much room open for experimentation that it might be worth a shot. But that's probably waay down the line

Of course that's an option too. There are many possibilities, and since there are not many paths taken before in this direction, this generation of artists actually can go and explore all new musical territory... Thinking about that makes me really excited for some reason.

I wouldn't call myself a noise fan, because I'm relatively new to noise in general. But I do find it very interesting and definitely something to look more into.
