I wanna believe in ghosts, I've just never had any, like, true experiences besides the random "dropping plate" and such, I'd wanna do those ghost hunting stuff kind of like those shows in the early 2000's.

^Actor Dan Akyroid's brother got him into the paranormal decades ago (hence how Ghostbusters came out) but he's never seen a ghost.

For anyone interested in getting spooky with some ghost stories this October, I recommend checking out the old episodes of Coast to Coast AM that Art Bell would do on Halloween, just taking calls about ghost stories. A lot of the callers are just kind of silly and delusional, but that's part of the chaotic fun. I think some of the stories are genuinely unsettling though and get me pretty jumpy I must admit. archive.org/details/coast-to-coast-am-with-art-bell-ghost-to-ghost

A lot of the callers are just kind of silly and delusional, but that's part of the chaotic fun. Yeah, Bell didn't exactly vet people who would appear on his show, just as long as they gave good copy. I've seen where paranormal investigators have said that they were on his show like that was supposed to mean they were legit or something when it, in fact, didn't really mean squat. I think some of the stories are genuinely unsettling though and get me pretty jumpy I must admit. Not that it was on one of Bell's shows--unless someone told it and I don't know about it, I just read this on a forum--but THE creepiest story I ever read was about some people who owned a house that was supposedly an insane asylum. The morgue part of the house was just chained up and the couple who owned it never went into that room. One night they had a bunch of friends over who were talking and all when at one point suddenly everyone grew quiet. What the deal was the room to the morgue was chained but the chain wasn't tight. Supposedly the door had partially opened and a freaking ARM was sticking through it. It grabbed one of the guests by the skirt and no would could pry it loose to the point where the woman just had to slip out of the skirt. They sold the house later and got the hell out of there. I have suspicions about how something in the afterlife can become so powerfully strong it could do such a thing so I think this is just a story. However, if it is true then that's scary as all hell.

I've seen where paranormal investigators have said that they were on his show like that was supposed to mean they were legit or something when it, in fact, didn't really mean squat. Well, the "Ghost to Ghost" Halloween specials were just open calls, and in one of those first few episodes I heard him say that they do not screen calls, kind of amazing that they had so few prank callers. Maybe they started screening them later at some point. That would certainly be freaky! Makes me think of the basement hatch in Evil Dead. Also insane asylums are my favorite haunted places, because who can guess what those ghosts might be like? The madness they had in life might give them superpowers as ghosts.

Well, the "Ghost to Ghost" Hah, clever pun and name with that one Halloween specials were just open calls, and in one of those first few episodes I heard him say that they do not screen calls, kind of amazing that they had so few prank callers. Yeah, really... Maybe they started screening them later at some point. Could be. For a bit after he started, Mr. Nightmare on YouTube (who just repeats creepy stories from people who send them in) used to claim they were true. After a while he added the word "ALLEGED" (caps his) to the "true stories" wording because I know of a few of them were proved to be fake later. That would certainly be freaky! Also insane asylums are my favorite haunted places, because who can guess what those ghosts might be like? The madness they had in life might give them superpowers as ghosts. Good point, especially if you had someone who was pretty physically strong but they were chained up all the time due to, at times, asylums being terrible places. Once freed upon death I'd imagine if someone went through that they'd be pretty pissed off!
