In case anyone is interested I posted two new albums to my other bandcamp where I have my other solo projects. One is a way out percussion project that I was doing live a lot for a while, an attempt to capture the sound and rhythm of these hand based ritualized movements I've been afflicted with since childhood. Definitely the weirdest music I've done. The other is a jazz piano album that takes the rhythmic elements I've been messing with on the last few ranseur albums in a different direction, been working on that one all year. Planning something big for the next ranseur album and it may have elements of these two blended in. Justin A Mank bandcampThat rythm thing you do is so smooth, primitive and calming. I love it. Glad you're feeling it man.

Would you ever record stuff like the Espresso and Pork Roll album on an acoustic piano if possible? I think it would be pretty awesome and the overtones would probably add a really otherworldly quality.
Enjoying this percussion album quite a bit at the moment but I know it will take the right moment to listen to the whole thing. Very cool concept of experimenting with micing styles to get different levels of extended technique and baseline sound in there.

Very cool concept of experimenting with micing styles to get different levels of extended technique and baseline sound in there. Would have preferred to do that album on a real piano but I just don't have any way to access one anymore. Been improvising for a long time but this is the only time I ever tried to play jazz, so I was giving it a rough try. The drumming thing was my main act for a while, but I was more focussed on gigging and never did an album that was properly recorded. Problems with getting stuff released and shit. Might absorb it into other projects. It changed my whole outlook on music though, just focussing on rhythm and trying to approach rhythm in a novel and disturbing way. Was fun talking about it with z'ev too, but it's damn hard to promote something that weird so I started moving away from it.

Thanks for checking it out you guys, I'm glad it's connecting with people. Tape release is planned for later in the year. Ranseur - Goblin MusicListening to the tape now, it's even better than I remember. The hiss fits well on the format and the art is especially well done. Glad to have it.

Glad you're digging it, I spent a ridiculous amount of time getting the mix for the noise right, so I'm glad it's coming through good.

Just posted the new ranseur album gnome songs for ritual cleansing. Went for a more sort of whacked out chamber approach with the synths on this one and also used some noise percussion. This will probably be the only ranseur album with this kind of percussion, and I dedicated it to the late z'ev who influenced me to try out that kind of stuff. Was working on it before he died and I was hoping to show him the album, felt like I had to dedicate it to him. Little bit weirder than the goblin record but I think it turned out decent. ranseur - gnome songs for ritual cleansing

This is a great one, man. Reminds me a bit more of Subterranean city, especially the first track when it kind of breaks the pattern more towards the last third or so.

Glad you guys are getting something out of it. Wanted it a little less minimal than the last one.
