Hahaha yeah 2048 was so addictive, lost many hours to those tiles. Indeed, as I'm relating!

Forgive me brothers for I have sinned. Yes. I got me another, my third, original xbox.. But you know comrades, it was a DEAL For $150 (euros actually) I got me a fully modded OG Xbox, with a 2TB (new one) HDD and FULL, like FULL, of emulators +++ stuff.. It's actually a 2TB image circulating around lately but the convenience of getting the xbox , with a new changed the HDD , the image one it already passed AND another original "Duke" controller was too good to pass up.. So currently after many years I'm sinking into both emulation on xbox and OG xbox titles lots of gems there

^Sin away, who the hell's going to judge you here? I just got Vectrexians for my Vectrex the other week. That'd be *quite* the quarter sucker if it were in the arcades! The difficulty level is higher than on the original Galaxian, which it's a clone of. You get five ships to start off with and get an extra with every 4000 points (unlike with just three ships and an extra at 7000 like the original and that's it). It's a toughie!

Haha! Sometimes I think, archiving, collecting, it's always related to some form of OCD, but yes, as long as it's in a healthy state, as most persons it's good, so NO REMORSE NO REGRETS haha Galaxian is probably my favorite Space Invaders clone, and I actually prefer it to Space Invaders itself and its descendants of any age, nice Nothing better than some mindless gaming time, even 10 minutes per day if someone can't afford more time..

Haha! Galaxian is probably my favorite Space Invaders clone, and I actually prefer it to Space Invaders itself and its descendants of any age, nice Yeah, especially since it was a spiritual sequel to S. Invaders, and really upped the ante by having the aliens peel off the formation and dive at you. (It also upped everything by being the first ever color video game.)
Your comment also makes me think of how Asteroids was a severe classic but I prefer Asteroids Deluxe though. Both are great games, however.
Nothing better than some mindless gaming time, even 10 minutes per day if someone can't afford more time.. I always play card games and usually 2048, but I also hooked up two plug and play systems to tvs here (now that I've been moved for a few months now) but now it's Vectrexians!

Neo Scavenger. A fiendishly addictive rogue-like post apocalyptic survival game. It sure as heck doesn't hold your hand, expect to die a LOT. Very very satisfying though.

Currently instead of enjoying any recent game (although I fired up "A Plague Tale:Innocence" I got free from Epic giveaways and indeed looks awesome and so very polished at first glance), I mostly do some retro gaming split between Original Xbox - Emus on Original Xbox and retro gaming on the PC... Feeling great and always nice to feel again the old days... Currently looking to get some adventures and rpgs from start to finish, but undecided if I should go back to some classic text ones I want to finally play (Infocom etc.) or go to the graphics era and start with something really strong (maybe Sam n Max Hit the Road or The Dig, something in that lines)...

Blasted brother in law got me into Empires and Puzzles on my cell phone. Takes the match three puzzle to new heights, adding on a ton. Pretty addicting!

Glad you quoted me @beebon so I saw the responses, great, lots of nice stuff : i've been super into dwarf fortress lately I'd love but never have the courage to start it.. I've read about it, so complex and deep, but needs some courage to get into that rabbit hole.. Feel jealeous that other people can enjoy it and I don't even dare to start it... In my defense, while back in the day I enjoyed a lot Rogue and early roguelikes (which were many and circulating a lot in shareware CDs compilations/magazine compilations later in 1995-8), I never "ascended" or finished even one Permadeath and in general extremely hard or complex (control wise or rule wise)games I could only attempt back in the day and even then not with much success Dwarf Fortress is much much more than a roguelike of course, respect to all who cut their teeth on complex games like these I'm waiting for your DF progress stories Damage Cloud Blasted brother in law got me into Empires and Puzzles on my cell phone. Takes the match three puzzle to new heights, adding on a ton. Pretty addicting! Oh man, I know where you're coming from, fun-little-mobile-time-waster-games are like cheap sex with a semi-good looking woman(as Van Halen was singing) that yo know is not going anywhere, but still, you enjoy I'm all with you mate, we're all sinners in this world Thanx for posting Stรฉphane F. , I unfortunately "forget" to watch modern IF (except the annual comp and that even just 5-10 games max) so I've missed it and I REALLY like the idea of it, will try to play it but first and foremost bookmark it Many many thanx Besides E.Short I also see Andrew Plotkin and other familiar names, also see it's an Anchorhead tribute, feel bad for not having played that classic too... Endless thanx for the heads up ! And let me add to anyone who reads it that Dungeon Synth along with such a Lovecraftian themed text adventure is more than perfect (as with especially early era RPGs) Sam and Max Hit The Road is a favourite of mine. It is nice to see that point and click adventures still have a following and that new ones are being made I'm currently try to fill the blanks and play everything from the classic era I didn't play then or later, but I'm very glad the adventure audience is alive albeit nicher today but kicking.. Unfortunately I'm not keeping up at all with current ones but always suggestions are welcome!! From the classic era Lucasfilms/Lucasarts, my personal favorite is Monkey Island 1, one of my favoritegames of all time.. Had it (copied , 8 360kb disks) back in the era and finished it with a magazine's "solution" at hand, and then again and again many times Also finished MI2(great game) but the ending at the time seemed craze to me and never replayed it, it was also very difficult and I still remember how much I hated the spitting contest... Also played and greatly enjoyed Day of the Tentacle, another hard one I remember but great great game and atmosphere, I loved it had Maniac Mansion 1 in a computer to play, it was great back at the day to see a full game inside another one as extra Maniac Mansion 1 though I never got far, SUPREME atmosphere but back then Lucasfilms wasn't hand-holding and the game needs some serious dedication.. Indiana Jones 3 I played and finished back in the day too but it was bittersweet it had arcade sequences only some you could avoid, but otherwise it was full of the Indy atmosphere.. Full Throttle is the only I've played in recent years (previous decade) and I felt kinda disenchanted: it was great being leather motorcycle and metal themed ,top artwork quality but it also had bad arcade sequences (even on remaster although you could skip after some tries there) and it was very short(still it is like a mini-movie, great for what it is).. And that leaves the pile of the unplayed Lucasarts game I keep to enjoy slowly one by one : Sam n Max (always want some comedy to lift my spirit that's why I was thinking of starting this one), The Dig (I think I will love its scifi and for so many years leave it to enjoy at "a proper time"), Indiana Jones 4 Fate of Atlantis which is really the crown jewel of them (MI1 aside) as I remember from baaaack in the day... All these years (close to 30 ) I've been keeping it to play at a good summer occasion/vacation to fully enjoy it's theme.. Hopefully I'll manage someday And almost forgot : Grim Fandago, I've already started it once but real life distracted me, but I'm always going to restart it since I was at the beggining scenes All in all, nothing better to wake up in Sunday, read this forum listening to Dungeon Synth and talking about the good old days of good old games

I'd love but never have the courage to start it.. I've read about it, so complex and deep, but needs some courage to get into that rabbit hole.. Feel jealeous that other people can enjoy it and I don't even dare to start it... I know what you mean, I bought a game from a guy on my forums a while back, World War III for the Sega CD and there's barely anything online about it. The instruction book (yeah, BOOK, it's huge!) makes it out to being very complicated and I would say I've never tried it but then my cd player is stuck, not ejecting cds, nor can I play them (Batman Returns is currently stuck in it ). So that solves that problem, although it sucks with the other one! Blasted brother in law got me into Empires and Puzzles on my cell phone. Takes the match three puzzle to new heights, adding on a ton. Pretty addicting! Oh man, I know where you're coming from, fun-little-mobile-time-waster-games are like cheap sex with a semi-good looking woman(as Van Halen was singing) that yo know is not going anywhere, but still, you enjoy Heh, yeah I might actually spent a few bucks on it too as you have to grind through areas over and over at times before you can advance. You have to build up certain places in your kingdom so you can access more areas to keep up with feeding your troops and storing iron to build stuff with. Right now things are expensive (happens the further you get into the game) and it takes up to an entire day (or more) to build up something, but meanwhile if you need to build something else up you have to wait. I'm going to see about paying some money to hire a second builder. Be the first time I've spent money on a game that's basically free ever! From the classic era Lucasfilms/Lucasarts, my personal favorite is Monkey Island 1, one of my favoritegames of all time.. I've been looking for that for my Sega CD for years now. All in all, nothing better to wake up in Sunday, read this forum listening to Dungeon Synth and talking about the good old days of good old games I'd give a "like" to that comment if this forum had that feature Amen to this!

Hey @daytol Indeed we are used to modern feedback for games, be it comments, previews, solutions etc. so when nothing pop up online you always know you're for a treat ! I experience that usually by going and scanning Win 3.1 games for gems, lots of shareware/freeware in the era up to early CD era stuff, many unknown or simply forgotten excellent stuff there And since you mentioned the huge manuals, one reason I never enjoyed even back in the day flight sims were the complex controls and the like HUGE manuals and instructions.. Although I'm pretty sure we should be way advanced than the F-15 Strike Eagle or later Falcon 3 era as I suspect modern MS Flight Simulator can made it almost like click n play... Though I LOVE huge manuals, boxes n stuff in my beloved genres of Adventures, RPGs and stuff Regarding spending some bucks on a mobile time sinker (or even not mobile) dunno mate, I'm always skeptical. I enjoy buying a game one off, not though playing pay2win games (sorry if the games not that way of course) as if there's money spending in game (for gameplay reasons, not cosmetics) the whole thing escalates quickly with loot boxes , gambling n stuff.. I also played for years Magic The Gathering Arena only for free, never bought crystals etc etc.. Of course if you feel like do it mate, no remorse ofc About Monkey Island 1, if you haven't played it , you're in for a treat, I'm jealous actually of people that haven't played some masterpieces like it, wish I could relieve that feeling! p.s. Of course always listening to DS, currently listening to Arilius diggings of Tracker Music , so fitting !!

Indeed we are used to modern feedback for games, be it comments, previews, solutions etc. so when nothing pop up online you always know you're for a treat ! I wouldn't know yet! Got too much going on right now to see about getting my CD fixed (got a sinus infection and I can't even see a doctor until the 21st, plus that delays two *other* treatments I'm supposed to do as well! ). It might have quite a bit of replay value too, but again, might be a while before I can say for sure... Regarding spending some bucks on a mobile time sinker (or even not mobile) dunno mate, I'm always skeptical. Of course if you feel like do it mate, no remorse ofc What I need in the game I don't think will cost much at all, plus it should just be a one-time purchase. I've been playing for over a month and that's the only expense that I've only just needed for the last week or so. And they deserve some money anyway. About Monkey Island 1, if you haven't played it , you're in for a treat, I'm jealous actually of people that haven't played some masterpieces like it, wish I could relieve that feeling! Even though it was better on a computer setting (I heard Syndicate for the Genesis they shouldn't have bothered porting it there without a keyboard) I think it was still a decent port. It has voice synthesis added as well which the original didn't have. Again, someday hopefully!
