This idea came up recently in the Dungeon Synth facebook group, and I thought it was interesting. Surely I'm not alone in finding Dungeon Synth to be one of the most soothing genres, and one of the best aids for inducing sleep? What are some albums or songs that you find best for relaxation, meditation, and quiet nights? Personally, I find Tome III, by Erang to be one of the best. Also, Tomhet is extremely effective.

I think "Neverlur - Op under Fjeldet toner en Lur" is a awsome relaxing album.

The first Flies The Coop album by Hole Dweller made me feel this odd sense of comfort..
It's not particularly droney or meditative through all moments, and it does have a bold range of emotions that read from optimistic to spooky to bittersweet... For a sleep aid it might be better at lower volume. It holds a special place in my brain so naturally I'm accustom to its shifting palette.
I do understand that one reason I find it soothing is the crunchy flute voices, sometimes backed up by strings.. The occasional ambience is nice too. Where there is low end it has a nice warmth. Again, it'd probably take a few listens before it'd ring as completely soothing, but getting there is nice. I also find the cover's tint of green very nice to look at, so that's a plus for a quiet awake listening where the artwork may be present.

Hello dungeonsnake! Hmmm... I don't really use music for falling asleep, as I like some good ol' peace and quiet, but let me try and dish out some of my fav calm and meditative DS: Firstly, DIM's Landskein is just plainly a magnificient piece of instrumental music: Then, Carwylm's Wegléast is a soothing journey. Also, Maagi's Lords of Olor is quite laid back, although not as ethereal and got more beat to many of the songs. Now, since you mentioned tomhet, I must advertise my own work as Lovi, as the first song from my album is heavily influenced by said song

I thought a bit more on this subject and I believe that "Rundgang um die transzendentale Säule der Singularität" by Burzum needs to be mentioned here. I know many people don't like the song because it's extreme monotony but for me it is an essential classic. I remember times when I was listening to it two or three times in a row while watching snow fall trough my window...

I don;t know, actually "Rundgang..." always gave me a great post nuclear falloutish vibe, but Tomhet on the other hand, certainly soothing in its own sense of course.. I'd add the obvious answer here, Fief, as soothing as it gets and since it wasn't mentioned..
