I somehow missed this thread when I was reading through the board when I joined. Cool to see you highlight a bunch of this old stuff. There was so much good music written in the tracker/demoscene heyday of the 90s, and so much of it is lost to being in formats that no one can even make sound right anymore without emulators. For the Middle Ages release, I had first tried to remaster things in Renoise, but they ended up sounding subtly wrong just because algorithms were different for interpolation, bends, and so on. Ended up dumping .wav files direct from the trackers and doing the very lightest of mastering in Logic. Also for those that want to explore tracked music some more, there's SceneStream (formerly Nectarine), which 24/7 streams module music and has an interface for taking requests and such. Coincidentally, I'm actually about to release an album of remasters of my old tracked songs from the 90s. Hope it's OK to shill it here, it's up for preorder and will go live this (Bandcamp) Friday.

There was so much good music written in the tracker/demoscene heyday of the 90s, and so much of it is lost to being in formats that no one can even make sound right anymore without emulators 1000%! I am always in awe at some of the music I've downloaded over the years. A lot of amazing songs that seem to have collected cobwebs over the years. For the Middle Ages release, I had first tried to remaster things in Renoise, but they ended up sounding subtly wrong just because algorithms were different for interpolation, bends, and so on. Ended up dumping .wav files direct from the trackers and doing the very lightest of mastering in Logic. I know the feeling. I'm currently trying to work in a few different programs. Hell, I updated the one I primarily use (schismtracker) to the newest edition and some of the bends, etc. weren't working correctly on songs I'm writing. I'm not sure why but I had to go back to the previous edition I wrote it in. Awesome, thanks for the info!

Hello all. There's been quite a few uploads since I've last posted in this thread. I have not posted notes or descriptions here on them but can if anyone is interested.
Coming soon is the 2nd compilation video, for those who prefer the longer listen rather than single tracks.
Thanks - hope everyone here is doing well. Seems like the posting has slowed down a bit?

Hey arillius , glad to see you keep updating it with more great finds and for sure I and more people are always thankful for the effort into looking for diamonds in this overlooked scene As for the slow posting, summer season certainly makes people spend less time as usual in online places.. Still glad we have this, and even asynchronously we can discuss and keep it as one nice place for DS p.s. Catching up with the latest uploads on the channel, I always like the variety in the sound and how creators used tracker software to get to their target! The 4 latest were also more ambient than the first ones I remember which is very interesting too!! Listened to last 5 and had good time indeed!! Regards!!

Greetings again fellow adventurers. This channel just surpassed 500 Subscribers. While that isn't much in the grand scheme of things, it's more than I ever expected for such a niche thing. At any rate, I'm going to keep posting songs as long as I can. I have dozens in line ready to get posted. Again, I'm not necessarily saying these are dungeon synth by any stretch, just merely opening up a dusty old door in the dungeon that leads elsewhere. I hope those from this board who subscribe have enjoyed the tracks. Here's my latest post: "A Bard's Tale" - kind of a folky, upbeat medieval song from the year 2000 by an Italian artist called "DipA" youtu.be/oeKPeq40nFw?si=ELD4td56trialrXPUntil next time..
