www.youtube.com/channel/UCo19LvgOTqvwj4C4_N4daHgHi all. Guy from Khand here. I created a YouTube channel last night for Epic Fantasy-Themed and/or Orchestral tracked music from the 1990s to the early 2000s. While I know this is a niche kind of thing, I believe that a large portion of tracks will ultimately be appreciated by fans of Dungeon Synth. These were files on the internet and not typically released on a physical medium. So I would imagine most of you have never heard them before. The whole Caduceus thing (see thread: "Middle Ages Unveiled") got me thinking. If people love that release but aren't familiar with anything else created in a similar fashion in that same era... Well, there's a whole world waiting to be explored. Tracked music has now fallen out of favor for all styles of music other than the creation of chiptune. I hope to spread some of this wonderful music and interesting subculture to those who are not familiar. Here is the first track I uploaded. An amazing piece of epic, fantasy synth from 1999. youtu.be/IFgnRzyA9CUThe second track I uploaded is from a Swedish tracker who went by the name Nightbeat. 'Tales of Magic' - a wonderful medieval/folky piece which brings the listener to a world of magic. youtu.be/9OZD0eFeiIgThe third song I uploaded is part 1 of 5 of an amazing series of fantasy tracks made by a Russian tracker named -=Ivory=- in 2000. Honestly, his tracks could easily be considered DS in some ways if you ask me. youtu.be/4GhuKB-uNysAnyways, keep in mind there are HUNDREDS of these tracks. I hope you enjoy and please subscribe if you're interested. I've always felt that this is a lost chapter in the story of DS in some way, but what do I know, haha.

Welp, that didn't take long, heh. Uploaded a real epic piece of music from 1997 that this Spanish tracker made, but got hit with copyright. He has it hosted on his studio's page, along with a bunch of other music he has done. Oh well! Regardless, just uploaded 2 more tracks. These ones are much simpler. youtu.be/nt8FzcdfJDQ "Elven Woods" by Mesonyx. Written in 1997. This is a track I can't find anywhere online but still had sitting around on a hard drive. I used to talk to this guy about his music and maintained contact with him up until 6-7 years ago or so. I have probably 6 more tracks of his as well, including a new age track. Don't think he's doing music anymore but I could be mistaken. youtu.be/vodAsyNExLU "The Noble Knight" by Skaven of Future Crew, 1991. This is an olllld tracked file, somewhat back in the earlier days. Skaven became a legend in the Finnish demoscene as a member of Future Crew. His works after this are spectacular, and is the sole reason why I got into this writing music with this stuff in the first place.

Also great choice of music you have uploaded to your channel, I have already subscribed and am looking forward to your future videos. Thanks for checking it out! I wasn't sure if many people would even care because of how confusing the programs look at first. But there really was a lot of amazing music made this way back then, all styles. Also, I realized I may have posted this in the wrong sub forum, mods feel free to move this thread if necessary. I'll update this thread as I add stuff I suppose.

Hey, thanks everyone! Good to know that there's people out there that want to hear this stuff! Just uploaded: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVjMr31m_hE "Declaration of War" short, epic track from 96 by two Swedish trackers (I believe), whom I'm not really familiar with. Some of these people probably had more electronic-styled music and occasionally made a fantasy-inspired tune every so often. I'll have to dig deeper on these artists. The audio seems slightly off on the upload, but not by much. This track has no panning for some reason, so the audio is warbled a tiny bit. Almost sounds like a cassette rip, heh.

Subscribed. leyland! you are welcome! www.youtube.com/watch?v=-36iClSaWkI New Upload: "Akir's Quest: Mystic Dance" - Belgium tracker Vargard track from 2001. This is the 5th song in a 7 song fantasy-inspired saga. This song is very positive and happy, but has a catchy melody. Don't know too much about Vargard to be honest... the other tracks aren't too bad, though a little rough around the edges. To me, this stuff would sound better on tape!

Just uploaded: "Dragonfire" by Dane. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTESzjicq4kI know next to nothing about the person behind this song but I really, really dig it. Excellent atmosphere and build-up. All I know is that the file was tagged with the year 1998 and he had his e-mail address in there, which was in Germany. I also think I found one other song by this "Dane" and may upload it in the future. Anyways, this song is good.

The Demoscene is alive and well. Has been going strong ever since. There are a couple dedicated FB groups where new and old crews show their work for those interested.

Uploaded: youtu.be/alD6TaB2vBw'Kloster pa Gaybanken' by some tracker named Valdemar. Don't know anything about the composer or any of his other music. I thought the melody and progression has a nice mystique to it, up to a point. I don't know what the song title translates to but it looks like 'Monastary on the Gay Bank' π― π

Uploaded: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqJzVN8sJAI"Crystal Rain" a track from 1992 written by the legendary Amiga Mod tracker Jogeir Liljedahl. This kind of stuff has better playback in the original tracking program, which for this would have been Protracker. The sound is slightly off in Schismtracker, but not by much. Anyways, this guy is a legend in the earlier days of mod tracking, and rightfully so. This track is different than his other stuff, but I love the feeling and atmosphere. For some of his other stuff played back in ProTracker, check this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBfHnyxdPJ0. Keep in mind that in those days they only had 4 channels to deal with so it was extremely limited. But because of this constraint, you can see how the trackers worked with what they had. His electronic stuff in the link above are some of the best Amiga mods from the early 90s for sure.
