Welcome here! I am very fond of the mix of the neo-classical and dungeon synth vibes. Makes the whole album very interesting to listen to. Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to my work! It really means a lot to me!

Welcome Chaucerianmyth! I checked out your album last year at Kaptain Carbon's recommendation and really enjoyed it.
How did you go about making arrangements specifically influenced by each character/tale?

Welcome Chaucerianmyth! I checked out your album last year at Kaptain Carbon's recommendation and really enjoyed it. How did you go about making arrangements specifically influenced by each character/tale? Thank you very much for checking out the music! I was already deeply familiar with the characters and tales before I made the album, so I started by taking notes, associating certain themes with certain musical ideas, and I pretty much went from there. In some songs ("The Squire's Tale"), I made the music reflect the character more than the tale. In others ("The Prioress' Tale") I went as far as to have the moments in the song parallel parts of the story within the tale. Either way, I tried hard to make every song reflect at least a little bit of both the character and their tale. Some was through note-taking beforehand, and other aspects were just intuitive, feeling the music based on my own intimate familiarity with the stories. Chaucer's my favorite author/poet, so I wanted it to feel like a personal experience.

How long, from conception to publication, did that album take you to make?

How long, from conception to publication, did that album take you to make? It was a labor of love, indeed! And I enjoyed every minute of it! From conception to completion, I'd say the album took about 6 weeks. I worked on it every day for at least 2 hours. Some days, I would spend most of my time awake working on the album, so it was definitely a big undertaking!

Your full-length is the most varied and intricate dungeon synth release I can think of for sure. It's pretty incredible how different and well executed each track is. Looking forward to your next release!

Just stopping by to say that your album is what brought me to the level of DS fanaticism I'm at right now, something for which I cannot thank you enough. Cheers and good luck with the new album!
(A note for everyone on the board: I love you all, the only reason I don't post more often is because I'm a lazy bastard and prefer to lurk.)

Perhaps your fanaticism will, one day, get to the point where you make your own Dungeon Synth to show off?

Divine Comedy Next! Maybe a few years down the line! I'm working on the Faerie Queene now, but The Divine Comedy would just wreck me, to be honest.
