I'm Aussie, can't say I know many Australian dungeon synth bands though so if anyone does I'd love to hear about them. Most of my favourite artists are from this genre are Russian actually. Also I'd love to know of any French DS projects.
I do have plans to contribute to the scene, so far I've made about 4 demos that I plan on refining and releasing as an EP in the following months.

Have you checked out that new Frostveil ep? That's some damn fine dungeon synth from down under from what I hear Edit: had to double check but yes Shelter is from Australia too! Edit 2: and Tarkin Turfer obviously, damn, there's a lot actually

Taur Nu Fuin is from New Zealand, I think that sort of counts.

Hedge Wizard is also from Ohio. Though I wouldn't say they're exactly dungeon synth, my country (Croatia) has a weirdly high amount of Summoning-inspired projects all over the region. Apart from a couple of NS folk metal bands (eugh) and Osmi Putnik, those bands are probably my country's most well-known metal exports. Considering how the continental landscape looks like in the country, the fact definitely makes sense. Example: my profile pic. Croatia is a great place for music making. I went there, from sweden, with a friend of mine and we recorded hours of material. We then went on through bosnien and serbien.

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations guys, you came through. I'm only familiar with a few of the bands mentioned so this was quite helpful.

I'm from Israel. Very passionate about Dungeon Synth, and working on making my own. I don't know anyone from my country who has even heared about DS without me telling about it, but we have quite a lot of black metal bands in here. But for sure, you don't have to live in europe to love dungeon synth, i think the love for DS roots in the passion of Fantasy litreture, which exist in all ancient mythologies. Also the love for nature and wilderness.

Also the love for nature and wilderness. This is true. I feel like there may be some people who may feel alienated due to a perceived ethnocentric quality to the genre (which comes from its black metal roots). But I agree with you that the only real uniting quality is the sound (and imagery). You don't have to pledge allegiance to Odin to make good DS, it can come from any background. Also, welcome!

I traveled through Croatia a couple years ago, all couch-surfing and staying with friends-of-friends-of-friends, and (nearly) everyone we stayed with ended up busting out some instruments at some point and/or singing. It was an amazing experience to join in impromptu music everywhere from Zagreb to the countryside to out on one of those islands. I've wondered since if this was coincidence or if Croatians have some sort of special connection to music as a broad cultural theme.
