The challenge starts tonight around midnight (my time, PST). Good luck to all who choose to participate, and most of all enjoy the onset of Autumn! (or Spring for our Southern Hemisphere friends).

I was in France for basically the majority of the run of this and ended up with almost no time to work on it, so I am sad to say I only got one song completed (on the plane home!) That said, I'm gonna try finish the project anyway, because I'm pretty happy with my concept and the first track. Unfortunately, as I pass the deadline, it will be harder to motivate my broken ADHD brain, so we'll see if it happens. 😅 On the other hand, I got so many great future DS album cover photos all over Provence and Paris. Also, I got to visit Victor Noir's effigy, having written a song about him last year for a song jam, which was super cool. (thread)Looking forward to hearing what people come up with though!

That short bit of fiction in description fits the atmosphere of the music perfectly, an enchanting but somewhat perplexing feeling of nature's faerie magic. Very nice.

Lush and relaxing ambient textures, dynamically progressing toward something while seeming to somehow stay standing still. Strong atmosphere, an eerie sense of comfort. I imagine putting this on repeat and falling asleep to it would bring about uncanny dreams.

This is very beautiful, goes well with an early morning mood and coffee. Thank you! This was a blast to take part in, I'm not used to being constricted to a few instruments. Thanks again to bartizanier for organizing.

The atmosphere makes me picture a bunch of morphing liquid bioluminescent creatures in a dark cave. So many cool textural details here, rapidly shifting and mutating over the course of time. I'm especially noticing the tape degradation effects, not sure I've ever heard those kinds of sounds explored more thoroughly. Reminds me of Boards of Canada. Wonderful! I hope I can participate in the next round, these Dungeon Rush challenges seem like a lot of fun. I want to go back and listen to all the previous entries now.

I went pretty overboard with the glitches. Hope you can participate at some point as well! I do hear from a lot of people that they want to, but end up getting busy with real life stuff. You can always adapt the process to your own project on your own timelines as well. I've compiled this (maybe incomplete?) list of the previous entries if anybody wants to check out past Rush stuff:

Last night someone slipped a note under my door. It contains the following message:
A Somnolent Rush
The somber winds of the onrushing solstice find us with attitudes benighted, bleary-eyed, slumbering. Hence, to a quiet quest you are invited A return to peace, and peaceful times, to gentle cloth removing dust from the tools of predecessors, to candlelight musings
Write us something for the piano only, please
The dice have been cast, no need to fret or lift a finger, have no fear of the langrets users chuckling somewhere unseen yet near
Seven songs, and between nineteen and twenty-four minutes long As often we bemoan, hourglass sands do not relent, nor prolong
The Solstice - and the Rush - begin twenty-first of December and the latter goes A fortnight plus seven days, ‘til the eleventh of January comes to a close
Last but not least, include a written passage of poetry or prose This must be sole inscription on your piece, good luck and warm repose
–
The author of the note remains anonymous. (They appear to have been intoxicated). Nevertheless, I look forward to this Northern Winter Solstice Rush, and I hope some of you will join.
P.S. With regard to the prompts, I think it is fair to infer that we can use piano sounds only, but you can choose any which way to manipulate those sounds or apply effects to them.
P.P.S. If you create a project and publish it, the literary passage you include must be the only text in the album description. Nothing else! This point has been made expressly clear to me.
