This sounds enormous, really enveloping. Nice find. Looked the project up and its a guy from Lunar Aurora.

Anyone know of many instrumental black metal bands? Was just thinking about how there's a strange scarcity of them. Ones I'm aware of: The Wanderer Orrery While Sad Spirits Around Me Stroll Ungesehen
Also the Old Silver Key demo tape is instrumental, really good tape.

I’ve recently been into early Thorns which I believe is instrumental. Fascinating stuff Edit: if you haven’t heard Grymyrk go check it out guys

Starlit - Ataraxis album ( I think Lustre's sideproject? could be wrong) could fit the bill too I think..

I like this Aura Grey tape. The vocals and some other parts of the sound are reminding me of Stagnant Waters a bit. I like the Seer's Fire stuff, too, not sure if I like it enough to get a tape although it seems exclusive to the tape at the moment. I like hearing the epic sound with a little less polish in the production. Added to BC the other day seersfire.bandcamp.com/album/whispers-in-the-fire

A friend of mine said he'd do one but then he got off the topic. Trying to get him to change his mind and do it. Thorns is killer.

Highly recommended! Swiss Black Metal in the style of Peste Noire... I couldn't get into Ungfell for some reason. I heard the last tape when it came out and thought it was too close to Peste Noire in terms of the quirkier folk bits, vocal harshness, and tinny guitar sounds (and Peste Noire is one of my favorites, btw), but it seemed too bland otherwise, like I could get everything they offered elsewhere. Heard the track from their upcoming album and it's still really typical. I realize I've actually become quite bored with a lot of black metal in the recent months. Last few things I really liked were Dismal's 遺。白, Witchmoon's Vampyric Curse, Orgy of Carrion LP and PH related stuff, Wulkanaz 7" and Paralys, Grey Aura tape, Seer's Fire tape, LLH demo iii, newest Cirrhus rehearsal, Witches Moon's Grim Botanical album, maybe a couple more I'm forgetting. There's some interesting things deep underground, but much else is getting pretty run of the mill for me.

I feel the same. the most of Black Metal Shit bored me the last years and i concentrate myself into the old stuff from Satanic Warmaster and Drowning the Light (this guy never disappoint). Also i understand your opinion about Ungfell. The Demo was fresh from my sight, really close to peste noire, but i appreciate that. The full lenght and the new one which is coming soon also don't grab me. As you said, it sounds too typical... To be honestly, i don't like Witches Moon... The riffing with the synth work is annoying for me and in my opinion the vocals just dissapoint. I can't find a way into their sound... sorry for that. But maybe i am not a scale about Black Metal. I digging myself always into these cellar records: One of my all time favourite:

Recently I find that with a few exceptions I can’t get into much bm made after 2000 these days...even fewer after 2010. Anything newer I like really could be more described as “keeping the tradition alive” more so than breaking new ground. I guess it seems a bit sad to think that my future of bm listening might be limited to revisiting old favorites, looking for more hidden 90s gems, and following whatever raw clique is hot right now. It’s hard to imagine things coming out now that a) are original and b) good...though of course being original is arguably not of the utmost importance in bm

Is anyone into Oriental Black Metal? I love it, but it is difficult to find truely authentic stuff. The last year i'm following Akvan, Anyone knows him? the best Oriental Black metal i think. Very authentic, rebellious, national, anti-religion, etc. He also use true Persian music system, instead of just going Harmonic minor like many "Oriental" Black metal projects.

There's certainly a lot that I enjoy after 2000, but it seems I have to look harder these days aside from what I already follow. I favor individualism pretty highly in BM since there's so much that sounds the same it becomes a blur of blast beats and riffing commonalities. I like when a band is memorable because there's a lot that's easily forgettable. There's a surplus of bands who sound way too close to X, Y, or Z influence reference point, but like not as good so I don't really have a reason to listen again (Ungfell for example). I don't really know what my current BM listening habits are. I did find some good things last year aside from labels and artists and I'm familiar with, but they were rarer finds. Perhaps I'm overestimating my disinterest with a lot of stuff coming out (likely), but it's certainly not infrequent that I play an album on youtube I see being talked about or hyped and it's rather boring or just okay and way overrated. Thought the new Evilfeast album was overrated. This was pretty kool:

Like I said, there’s a lot of more modern stuff that I do like but I mean proportionally speaking I feel I prefer older releases by far. Also I’ll say that with a lot of modern bm I tend to get into certain acts or scenes for like a couple months and then lose interest. I guess it’s sort of a separate problem in a way
