Like I said, there’s a lot of more modern stuff that I do like but I mean proportionally speaking I feel I prefer older releases by far. Also I’ll say that with a lot of modern bm I tend to get into certain acts or scenes for like a couple months and then lose interest. I guess it’s sort of a separate problem in a way Which acts or scenes did you have phases of last year?

Is anyone into Oriental Black Metal? I love it, but it is difficult to find truely authentic stuff. The last year i'm following Akvan, Anyone knows him? the best Oriental Black metal i think. Very authentic, rebellious, national, anti-religion, etc. He also use true Persian music system, instead of just going Harmonic minor like many "Oriental" Black metal projects. Kool track. I listen to a number of Asian and Middle Eastern BM bands, a couple Indian bands, but not many use more traditional regional composition or kinds of folk influences in their music aside from a few Pest Productions bands.

Well like I was listening to that new Havukruunu for literally like 2 days before losing interest. I guess it was when I seemed to officially stop caring about/following Falls of Rauros and WITTR and such. I was listening to that new Veldes really intensely for like a few hours then never revisited it. I was listening to La Torture des ténèbres for a couple weeks there. I dunno just a bunch of shit seemed to be pretty cool for about a minute and then I’m like eh whatever and finding myself going back to Werwolf projects and LLN and other old favorites

A lot of that always seemed a little gimmicky to me, which isn’t to say that letting your culture shine through is a bad thing or anything, but it often feels (to me) to be aesthetically contrastic with black metal. I dunno. Never vibed with it, is all

Anyone know of many instrumental black metal bands? Was just thinking about how there's a strange scarcity of them. Ones I'm aware of: The Wanderer Orrery While Sad Spirits Around Me Stroll Ungesehen Also the Old Silver Key demo tape is instrumental, really good tape. Check this one out.

Pilgrim's Shadow, this isn't bad. I like the percussion. Gets kind of samey though after a bit. Sargeburt, pretty traditional and repetitive but the vocals are great. Weird lack of info on these guys save for a facebook page. This monstrous project got a discography CD release last week

I like a lot of current black metal that stays true to second wave sound, just can't get enough of it.
