As I sit fishing in Gamwich in LoTRO, I am reminded how beautiful the OST for the Yondershire is: I am looking forward to the Lyndelby halflings update coming later this year~ ![](//storage.proboards.com/6657015/thumbnailer/gpINwxKYBLWvWnArMLtT.png)

Pro tip / life hack -split: In some twisted and kinda absurd way, doomscrolling becomes slightly lighter while having this playing in the background (or, am I simply on the edge of losing my mind at this point? /o\). PS. Also a great game and a 90's classic that I used to play a lot back in the day, even though the theme itself (transportation, vehicles, making lots of money etc.) is something I really couldn't care less of IRL.

talvisynth , thanks for sharing the video above. Never played the game myself, but that soundtrack was indeed very 90s! Speaking of games I haven't played, ran across this song and enjoyed it:

EDIT: Oh, and a fantastic tribute to the legendary Rob Hubbard's original by the mighty Skaven:

Transport Tycoon Deluxe OST (I only have played an ancient DOS "Railroads" game, none of the Tycoon series which are/were famous ofc) BUT yours and angbandslasthero comment about the 90s vibe got me very excited ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) and indeed, damn WHAT A SOUNDTRACK lol, it has that happy super market vibe, it actually reminded me of that specific "Music for Supermarkets" from Japan I think, which is like VERY FITTING to listen in the appropriate times ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) doing chores usually haha ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) GREAT FIND

crystallogic13 : Haha! I wasn't at all aware of that super market music in Japan, incredible stuff and now I definitely see the resemblance, holy shit this is good stuff, thanks for the link, hahah! ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) There's something oddly cheery in all these super market / elevator / <insert similar setting> music. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Not that I'd really listen to any of that in a manner like, "hey let's put on some funky elevator jazz while I drink my beer and enjoy the holiday evening", but occasionally and especially in certain type of games, it's the real deal in some eye-winking-lip-biting-raunchy way. And this brought to mind the Swedish synthwave artist Mitch Murder, who has created several soundtracks for imaginery games, and in this case, "Salary Man Simulator" series, which has this particular tongue-in-cheek sunny office/corporate vibe to it: mitchmurder.bandcamp.com/album/salary-man-simulatormitchmurder.bandcamp.com/album/salary-man-simulator-2-corporate-retreatmitchmurder.bandcamp.com/album/salary-man-simulator-3-remote-businessAnd ofc, all these elevator/etc. stuff makes me think of the soundtracks for Larry series. In particular, I love the spa lounge music in Larry 6. Also, this catchy piece from Larry 3:

Haha , glad you liked it talvisynth , I also already have marked the TTycoon OST ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Both very fitting in specific scenarios ! Since we are at Larry territory, this is it for me , the classic, the leisure suit, the memories of being a kid trying to play that thing with tiny english language knowledge, our dear Larry's 1st appearence and its theme, such classic, so many memories and a whole era right in front of my eyes :

crystallogic13 : Aah, the good ol' PC speaker sound! Larry 1 was my first touch with the game series, and just hearing the beeper version of the theme instantly brings good vibes and memories right in front of me too! \o/ Ofc, my English skills were pretty much nonexistent back then, and due to my young age I wasn't even supposed to get the idea of the whole game yet either, but it was fun already in itself to just walk around and try stuff by entering commands that a family friend had written down for me to get some feeling of being there in the game world but not to get "too far". ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) But naturally he didn't notice that one brief moment when I saw the commands "look girl" and "get in bed" over his shoulder and tried those later when no-one was watching, haha.

It was a golden magic era... I still remember the number 5 1/4 floppies some of the Sierra games had, Larry 1 was on two floppies, King's Quest the same, while Quest for Glory 1 / Hero's Quest was on 10 (double density, all these, 360kb not High Density 1,2Mb)! And I had PC Speaker for many years till i got upgraded in the multimedia era ( ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) ) and got along with my 4X CD ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) a sound card, a cheap Sound Blaster/Adlib compatible!!! I still love the pc speaker and all these games bring beloved memories, a whole magic era, glad at least that I lived it! Also, I got linked to a site that has that Railroad Tycoon Deluxe OST , but don't have the link available now while i'm in office, still got it immediately and many many thanx again, great find since i haven't played the game And something i'm sure has been posted countless times and people here probably are fans of/inspired, one of my favorites, MYST ost, never get old, just better like wine ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
