((God dammit hahahaha.))
Nes whirls around, shield at the ready, to face the kobold sneaking up behind him. He is acutely aware that it seems no help is coming, however, he straightens his back and points his hammer at the sneaking kobold. "You surely saw the deftness with which I wield my weapon. Your friend was wise. Flee this place!" He raps his hammer once against his shield. Keeping one eye on the kobold, he scans the square, aware that there is one kobold unaccounted for.

The Kobold seems unsure of itself and even backs away momentarily but then is snapped back into battle stance with its eyes even more dead than before. In a hallow arcane tounge it speaks:
"foolish mortal, it is already too late for you and everyone here"

Ned Quas-Ro is only a simple Dwarven prospector, on his way to the Mountain-Lands in search of gems and gold. His gear is plain but functional, and his bristly chestnut beard juts over his ample stomach, covered in oiled mail.
Unlike most Dwarfs, Ned is a seasoned outdoorsdwarf and had been sleeping under a small shelter not far away, as is his wont. He heard the commotion caused by the Cleric Nes, and carefully crept forward, trying to keep to the ditches and hedgerows... almost subconsciously, he withdraws a well-shaped stone from his satchel and fits it to his sling.
Ned will attempt to creep closer and view the scene, without being spotted, if possible.

((If you were a thief, assassin, etc., it would go off of percentile, e.g. a 1st level thief moves silently 20% of the time. However, since you're a fighter, I'm not exactly certain. I'm sure Kaptain will tell you.))

((COOL! Now I get so figure out people jumping in which is great because we get to work out the kinks. I also like the out of character talk in parenthesis))
Ned Quas-Ro looks at scene infolding before him. The commotion outside was enough to pull him away from his morning rock study and soon he sees a cleric engaged in battle with a kobold. Ned tries to be sneaky but being a dwarven fighter, his chain shirt and heavy breathing gives away his action within 100,000 miles of any living creature. The other Kobold pushes through the crowd away from the conflict and shoves the dwarf. The kobold seems to pay no attention to the dwarf and quickly makes its way through the thong of people bleeding as he goes.
Ned glances back to see Nes the cleric act first with one of the sloppiest swings seen in recent memory. The form was all off and the crowd lets out an audible cringe as Ne's hammer misses the mark by about 14 goddamn inches.
The Kobold smiles as he raises his sword and swings at the cleric

Ned, like all Dwarfs, was taught the basics of Kobold-tongue at his Father's knee. "Know thy enemy, and know thyself,", his Father had so often intoned, "And you need not fear the outcome of 100 battles." Ned is surprised and affronted by the Kobold's shove, and the slow rage of his race is kindled within his broad chest.
He responds in Kobold-tongue, "The Bone-Counter beckons for you, blixtalglick*!" *((this is a foul Dwarfish slur which I shall not translate here. Don't blame Ned, he can't help how he was raised.))
At the same time, he whips his sling in a quick arc over his head & lets fly a stone, hoping to crack the ill-mannered lizard in the back of the skull as it limps away (and also avoid hitting any civilians in the process)

((Damn, I really want to jump in but I'm at work on my phone right now so I don't know how I'll be able to keep up. And it seems like everyone's asleep by the time I get home . Anyways, this is still really cool to read at least. I'll have to figure out some way to participate in the main games when those start up.))

Veldenn has often ended up in the right place at the right time, in part due to his disdain for the social activities of men. A traveling companion once joked that Veldenn just hadn't found a quantity of ale sufficient to affect him, and it may have been true - it was hard to be around drunks of any sort when none of your own senses were dulled. But night was a fine time to have one's own senses at full capacity. While he had long since given up on the idea of finding any work in the tavern that night, Veldenn still kept his ears open. With his back to the outer wall, he noticed one shout, then another punctuating the steady noise from outside - more than the average amount of commotion for this town, this night. "What's going on?" he shouts, a little too loudly - maybe six ales is the turning point. A Dwarf and a Cleric not quite aligned against a kobold, but the fight isn't really fair to begin with. At the sound of the Kobold's arcane speech, the Elf is sobered, and immediately draws its bow in a reflexive motion, aiming for the creature's leg and hoping only to wound it. ((also new to this, also not 100% sure i'm doing the right thing but this seems great so far!))

((Everyone who has never played RPGs before, you're doing fine. Remember, this is only a test. Perfect time to learn.))
Friends at last! Nes offers a quick prayer to Paladine. "Help me drive this bastard off, and then we need to tend to the wounded!" As he speaks, he lets the kobold's sword bounce off of his shield, shoving it aside as he goes in for another swing, this time at the kobold's head.

I am on edge while I wait for the enemy to appear. I stop breathing for a few moments in order to not the vagrant where my location is. The enemy runs swiftly through the corners with anger. My arms are trembling while the tension builds up in my head. When he runs in front of the corner I'm in I shout at his face and attack him with the dagger in the neck, straight for the kill.
((If I'm a halfling I can go unnoticed and attack him by surprise. Is this correct? I should learn how to use the dice, also.))
